“Summer in Sitges”

We travelled from to & from th airport by train. This was straightforward & cheap. Sitges train station is 5mins by taxi from The Melia, about 7 euros. The closest beach is Balmins. It's approx 5mins walk from the hotel & was perfect for us. I believe it's known as a nudist beach but in reality it's whatever you feel most comfortable with. Beachgoers were a real mix too. Couples, families & singles. The walk into town is pleasant but worth noting that it takes a good 20minutes to get there. The range of restaurants is tremendous & suits all tastes & all price brackets. If you are keen to try a particular restaurant & plan to dine after 9:30 then it's advisable to book. We had planned to try Valencia next Summer but so enjoyed our week away in Sitges at The Melia that we plan to do it again next year.

“Very nice hotel, excellent service, nice location”

Good location 10/15 mins walk from beginnings of Town. However nice beach with a bar 5 mins walk and marina complex has many bars and restaurants again 5 mins walk from Hotel. Swimming pool very nice even if suffers from early morning 'towels on sunbeds' to get best shade! Loads of sunbeds around pool. Hotel food good. Breakfast good value if you get the 2-4-1 deal. Reception staff speak English and very helpful. No tea /coffee in room but room service prob. 4Pounds ish for two.

“love sitges and this has been our favourite view”

been to Sitges about 8 times and this hotel we have seen and wondered what it would be like a few times. We were not disapointed the view from our room was the best view that we have ever had in Sitges and over looked the sea and the town. Waking up with the church in view and the sun was great. We did not eat at the hotel as there are so many restaurants in town that you should go and visit them. Cleanliness of hotel was good and its very well kept. It seems to be a big business hotel so i guess thats why they look after it. def worth the money and def would stay there again. All the staff were very friendly and most spoke English. Bit of a walk into town but apart from that no issues at all.

“room change”

We booked the Melia as it was such a bargain for a 4 star hotel. The bar and restaurant areas have been renovated and are modern and cool. The rooms and other areas are a little dated but very clean and smart. We got a view-less room but who can complain at that price as you can select other rooms for a supplement. On our last evening we had to move to another room due to a water problem in another room. We were offered a room with a fantastic view of sitges overlooking the pool which was lovely but at that late stage of our visit was of little use. When we expressed our regret at the hotel we were offered breakfast free at the buffet and it was well worth it, items cooked to order, wine and cava included too. On checking out they also gave us our internet use for free. All gestures which ensured we were more than happy with our stay helped us ignore the inconvenience of having to move rooms. The location is fantastic above the port and between 2 lovely beaches. it is a little out of town but it's a nice walk along the new promenade or a 5 euro cab ride

“Very relaxing, excellent accomodation”

The hotel was very clean, the staff were very friendly and helpful. A convenient base and lovely harbour area with excellent restaurants and bars. Would definitely go back.

“Quality hotel in lovely beach resort with easy access to Barcelona”

We were 6 women celebrating our 50th birthday year. We found the hotel to be top rate - excellent service, friendly staff, the pool was great and not too busy, even though the staff thought that it was busy. We hadn't booked breakfast with the rooms and found the breakfast expensive. However, we just had coffee and a croissant which was reasonably priced. The rooms were comfortable and attractive and the air conditioning worked well and wasn't too noisy. The location was a 15-20 minute walk from the town centre - the shortest route took you past a nudist beach which was interesting! We arrived during Gay Pride Week which again was interesting! There was a considerable number of gay men in the resort and the hotel, but also families and heterosexual couples. There were also business guests. We didn't notice any other female-only groups. Overall we would definitely recommend this hotel as one of quality and good service.

“Good in parts”

Stayed one night. Very convenient for Sitges town [about ten minutes walk away] and in a good position just behind the port. Parking was expensive, but secure in an underground garage. Room was spacious and clean, but shower room was very tired, with some black mould on tiles. Hotel facilities good - nice outdoor pool, good restaurant, first class breakfast [expensive]. Staff very friendly and helpful. Had a rear facing room with good size balcony but view of adjacent apartments. Would use again if I could get same deal on room [large discount].

“Good hotel, but the service could be better”

The hotel and rooms are lovely, modern and clean, but beware that you will no receive the best service there. Sometimes it is up to standard and often it is not. Breakfast is expensive for what it is, but it is handy. Get the 'Mas' card in reception and you buy 1 breakfast, get 1 free. The beach is a minute walk from the hotel, so not at the beachside. You're about a 20 minute walk to the town, which is handy.

“Good value 4 star hotel”

This is the 3rd time I have stayed in this hotel. Staff are always very polite and helpful. Hotel is a good value for money as far as 4 star hotels are concerned & is always cheaper compared to it's relative competitors as far as same category is concerned. I have only read good reviews for this hotel and bad reviews for other 4 star hotels in the Sitges area plus bad feedback from friends on the other hotels so this hotel must be doing something right. Things to note: 1) Distance from the city centre: The hotel is near Balmins Beach & around 15 minutes walk from the centre. You can of course catch a taxi for around EUR5 but beware of the distance if you're squeamish about walking 2) The hotel charges for the gym and also for using towels at the gym which is pretty bad for a 4 star hotel! Apparently this is because the gym belongs to a private company but still this is unacceptable & the hotel should strike a deal for it's customers not to pay at all.
