“wonderful hotel”

Great hotel is best location. Just a few steps from the old city where we found some very good, creative restaurants. Only complaint is cost of parking (21 euros) but staff were outstanding in helping us with our needs.

“A great hotel in a great city”

The Cuitat is a great little hotel within a minute of the main shopping area and the medieval streets. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel because there's plenty of options nearby. Parking is a bit pricey but is in a secure underground car park nearby. Girona is a really nice city with a relaxed atmosphere and if I ever return I'm sure that I would stay at this hotel.

“Perfect for a weekend break”

The staff and Hotel just could not be better. Hotel right in the centre of things and very comfortable I have stayed there several times and never had any reson to complain about anything and I am a right miserable bugger.

“Perfect hotel in perfect location”

Very well-located hotel. Sleek European appointments. Nice size room with updated bathroom and short walk to the Old City and wonderful restaurants. Staff couldn't be nicer and made some great suggestions for dining and touring. We would definitely come back!

“Smart, comfortable hotel in excellent location for sightseeing - highly recommended”

Stylish, spacious bedroom & showerroom. Very clean and uncluttered but with everything you might need. Large comfortable bed afforded an excellent night's sleep. Reception staff appeared friendly and helpful with good spoken english. The restaurant menu looked good and not expensive compared with other local offerings. However we opted to eat out as we wanted to experience as much of Gerona as possible on our flying visit. The hotel was ideally located for walking round the old town. The city walls are a must. If you have a car there is plenty of free parking under the elevated railway 2 blocks to the west.

Area recommendations

The city walls provide great views over the old town and the gardens around the cathedral are particularly pleasant. There are plenty of bars and restaurants dotted around the narrow cobbled streets and down by the river.

“Excellent hotel”

Location almost immediately across a pedestrian bridge to the Old Town. Room very comfortable and spotless; excellent en suite. More of a grown-up's hotel than one for kids. Breakfast very good indeed - combination of cheeses, cold meats, bread, fruit, cooked bacon and scrambled egg, fresh orange juice, coffee, etc. Restaurant and service for evening (same room as breakfast) very good. Clean, Scandinavian-style decor. Reception staff friendly and very helpful with e.g. maps, where to park a hire car (which we didn't do in the end). Couldn't locate any English language TV stations; also doesn't really have a bar as such, and lounge chairs in reception a bit waiting room-like, but these are very minor quibbles only included in case they are what other people might want - didn't worry us. Very good restaurants within easy walking distance. Only 10-15 mins from train and bus stations in town, likewise from Turismo. All in all a thoroughly excellent hotel and one I would wholeheartedly recommend. I would certainly stay there again.

Area recommendations

Old Town is absolutely delightful rabbit warren of cobbled streets, steps, courtyards, arches, colonnades, etc. Great museums there - Museum of the City, Jewish Museum, Art Museum, etc. Can walk the walls, visit the great Gothic cathedral, etc. Old Town wonderfully clean, litter- and graffiti-free. Restaurants cluster in Old Town (Vinil and Draps especially good) and around Placa de la Independencia. Figueres (Dali Theatre-Museum) is about 45 mins away by train, Barcelona 1.5 hours in opposite direction. Bus connections good to e.g. Besalu (beautiful old village NW of Girona) and L'Escala on the coast (Empuries, a Graeco-Roman settlement). Turisom very helpful re timetables, maps, etc.

“We have used this Hotel before - its great”

This Hotel is recommended. It could not be more central to the city centre. The Hotel is clean inviting and the rooms were excellent providing even dressing gowns and slippers.

The old Town of this City is wonderful quaint, interesting especially the Jewish Museum. The Cathedral

“Nothing but praise for this Hotel and its staff”

A very friendly Hotel in the centre of the old town could not be more perfect unless of course it was free.

In the centre of the old town this Hotel is in the perfect position to see all that Girona has to offer. A nice Hotel that is MADE by its friendly and helpful staff.
