“Would not send my enemy here”

Go to check in and at 9:30 pm and the clerk ins on a personal call on her cell on the speaker phone. While still on the call asks my name, hands me paper to fill out and sets key on counter, says nothing else and stays on her call now off speaker. Get in room and it looks to be in a remodel state, lamps unplugged desk and chair shoved against wall so you cannot get to chair. Bathroom had a used bar of soap in the shower with what I will call pubic hair on it and a dirty wash cloth hanging from the shower head. Found some typr of pills under the bed. The pool was not clean and had towels and clothing lying all over. As I state in the header I would not send my worst enemy to stay here, and honestly what I paid for this I expected it to me half way decent!!!

“Personal attention would definitely return”

My husband and I visited Corpus Christi for our first year anniversary. We wanted to get away but had a very small budget. We chose this hotel based on reviews and price. It is a small older hotel but I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of the place. Our room was nice and large and the bed super comfortable. It was very homey and the owner was personable and very friendly. He even called us by our names each time he saw us. The location couldn't have been better. It is convenient to downtown Corpus, right on the water and close to the highway to Port Aransas/Padre Island/Mustang island. We will definitely stay here again. Highly recommend.

Area recommendations
downtown, the beaches, water street, Port Aransas - we enjoyed every place we went in Corpus and the surrounding areas. They were all quaint and laid back. So relaxing!
Getting around
Corpus is very easy to get around in by car. The traffic was light and highways and city roads are easy to navigate. It is also very convenient to get to Padre Island/Mustang Island and Port Aransas.
Must see
The USS Lexington Museum. You will feel the history touring this retired war ship.
Dining
Must try Town and Country Restaurant and Price's Chef for a down home breakfast. Mamma Mia's is THE place for Italian in the U.S. The owner treats you as if you are in his own home. Best experience and food!!

“Short 3 day stay for wedding...would stay again”

Check in was smooth and without incident. Very friendly staff. The gentleman who checked me in remembered my name the entire stay. Overall, the hotel is your basic room, clean and quiet. The room met my needs and was affordable at a reasonable rate. I was surprised how quiet everything was in spite of the hotel being full 2 of the 3 night stay. The only negative comment I have is no full service restaurant. There are not many restaurants in the area within a resonable walking distance. Luckily, I was there to visit family and had access to a vehicle. I would recommend renting a car if staying here or in this neighborhood

Area recommendations
If going for the beach, stay on Padre Island which is 15 min. away. Corpus Christi bay beaches are limited. Most of the bay is surrounded by a very rocky and sometime step shoreline with little to no sand.
Getting around
rent a car and either stay on North Padre Island or one of the areas out of the bay if going primarily for beaches

“Knights Inn Corpus Christi 12-24-2010”

Hotel had a stale, musty smell. Hole burned in carpet by iron (must have left iron turned on and put it down on the carpet, in the middle of the room). All knobs missing from "entertainment center" drawers. 6 empty fixture holes in bathroom. Hole in bathroom door (2" diameter approx.). Shower was a mist. Towels were clean, but frayed and greyish/white. No liquid provided with cereal at breakfast buffet. No de-caf coffee available at breakfast buffet. I think I was one of 2 parties staying that night. It really seemed abondoned and sad. Seriously, If I hadn't paid in advance, I would have left.

“LOVED IT!!!”

THE PLACE IS SMALL, THE ROOM IS NICE AND CLEAN.THIS IS FAMILY ORIENTED,AND THE PRICE IS JUST RIGHT.THE BREAKFAST IS SUITABLE FOR THE PRICE.THE BEST THING IS THAT THEY HAVE A SMALL FRIDGE AND MICROWAVE IN THE ROOM.

“NOT HAPPY!”

It was horrible. There was trash on the floor of the restroom, beds were dirty, towels in bathroom looked dirty(had stains), fridge and microwave didn't work. Hotel locked after 11pm, could only leave if it was absolutely necessary (curfew?). There was no breakfast, just coffee (horrible coffee) and the swimming pools were dirty!! The hotel also smelled and so did the room. I will not stay there again and I recommend that nobody stay there.

“Don't stay here”

I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. If you are traveling with small children you should avoid this hotel. The first room they gave me had problems with the key. I was told that it had a trick to be able to open it. After several tries I couldn't open the door so I was assigned to another room. When I walked in the second room the first thing my 2 year old daughter saw on the floor was a dead roach. You can imagine how unhappy I was at this time. The odor everywhere in the hotel is horrible.One of the beds didn't have a flat sheet and the balnket lookes very nasty. The towels were white at some point in time, now they look gray. Please AVOID this hotel.

“Will return”

Well I stayed at this hotel before, when it was still the Railway Inn. The only problem at that time was the smell in the elevator and well their breakfast. I just stayed there with my husband and three kids and it was decent. The elevator didn't smell so bad. The pool was not clean/ nor did we ask for them to clean it. My room was okay the smell without the A/C on is not the nicest. The walls had some writing on them. There was no coffee pot. The beds were nicely made and clean, the towels looked clean, (we used our own) everything worked in our room. No, the oceanview is not that great. I plan on returning in a couple of months and I will be expecting to see the place a bit different since they are making changes to it. About the breakfast, well I didn't go down there but my husband said it was decent a lot better than before. I have no idea what some people expect from this place it is not a 5 star hotel! I requested room service and it was done, it would have been better if the girl would move chairs and tables to vacuum. Overall I am satisfied with my stay there. Thank you!
