“perfect for us!”

We were looking for something inexpensive and close to the bay and it was perfect. The people were very friendly from helping us locate the hotel parking at midnight, informing us of bay swimming, to suggesting a place to eat on our way out. The building is older but has been maintained well. Our room was by the pool and even thought we did go it looked very clean and inviting. The room was clean, comfortable, and the AC was even on when we got to the room. We will be going back!

“no hot water & music too loud all night”

There was no hot water. We had to call the front office many times cause the hot water wasn't working. Then the someone had music on & very loud all night. We couldn't sleep all night.

“Roach Hotel”

This place is infested with roaches read the yelp reviews you have been warned there were hiding everywhere in our room behind every piece of furniture and behind the curtains ewwhh its so gross even babie roaches even though some rooms have been renevated but its just a look the bug problem hasn't been solved beware of this place unless you like sleeping with roaches!!! Never again

Comment from the hotel's management

We use the same pest control company as the other major downtown hotels. This is South Texas, and it does not get cold enough most years to kill off the insect population. There will be an occasional bug creeping in from outside. We do not believe there is a reservoir of insects hiding somewhere in our hotel. We have treated especially intensively when there has been a increase in reports in any single area, and we treat the entire property on a regular contracted schedule.

“Worst NIGHT in a HOTEL!”

Horrible...Horrible...Horrible...did not sleep what so ever! Dirty, bugs, smelly...NEVER EVER AGAIN!!!!

“Not Impressed”

We got in at 9:30 p.m. couldn't go in the pool cause it was late and thought we could go in the morning (we had our two grandaughters with us who were excited about going in the pool). The next morning we found out from a very rude receptionist that the pool didn't open until 10 am and then I asked her "and check out time is 11? She just responded "yea". No explanation, no "sorry" just "yea". Totally rude.

Location is great but the hotel could stand some TLC. Has gotten very run down.

“Ok for a day.”

Granted this hotel is an older building built before I was even born. The outer appearance is cozy, the entrance loby and first floor are clean and pleasant. The building either does not have air conditioning or they forgot to turn it on because the entire building was extremely hot walking in. It was cooler outside. As we walked to our room from the 5th floor we could oversee the loby area which looked vintage and elegant. However, once we walked into our room, it seemed like we went into the 80's and were stuck there. The bedding sheets, curtains, and decor looked like they hadn't been used/cleaned in over 25 years. The carpet felt dirty when walking on it and the restroom could use some much needed repairs. I guess for the rate, you get what you pay for. I would come back only because the people were so friendly and helpful and it's so conveniently located a block from the bayfront, which is one of my favorite spots in Corpus Christi.

Area recommendations

Bayfront is my favorite spot of Corpus Christi. There is a diner right across the street from the hotel that we failed to dine in while we were there. My cravings for oysters took us there the last day of our trip and we ordered to go. OMG...the food was amazing, my only regret was not having gone sooner or dined in the restaraunt. The staff taking our order were extremely friendly and for once...someone got our order right. Our food was delivered quickly and we loved it. I recommed eating there to anyone looking for great seafood at a very inexpensive price. It's a shame i don't remember the name of the restaraunt, but the building is black and white looks like a diner and it is to die for!

“Won't stay here again”

The A/C wasn't working properly. The refrigerator wasn't cold. There were roaches in the bathroom....that was it for me
