“Fresh Stay in an Old Town”
This hotel is not on the water, nor does it have a private pier-- but it is only a short drive to the bay. My husband was skeptical at first, but after fishing all day he was glad to come back to a nice, clean NEW hotel room, where the decor was modern and the room smelled fresh. We were done with the one star motel scene and paid the same or less considering the complimentary hot breakfast, crib, pool towels, juice machine, fresh coffee seemed like 24/7 and free cookies after 3pm. The fitness center was small but equipped for an express cardio or weights, with music/TV and headsets available. Having a laundry on premises was fantastic-washed quickly, dried everything in one cycle. We brought our three kids, all under 7 years old and could not keep them out of the pool, they loved it! The manager and staff could not have been more helpful from local restaurant reviews to activities for kids, and just general caring that we have a good stay. We were there for 4 days. My ONLY complaint, and it only affected me- was the comfort of the pillow. It was a foam type with some sort of core that gave my neck muscle soreness for days-- but the hot spa and sauna helped. Mini-fridge, microwave included- grocery store nearby, stocked up on salads, fruit, veggie steamers and "healthy" micro-dinners, beverages, etc. as most restaurants served everything battered and fried (and expensive!) Too much for a family of 5! It is not on the water, but the pool area gets good Texas sun half the day!
