Location is very good

Posted 24-Jun-2015
Pros: Location and great staff. Great hot breakfast
Cons: Pet fee of $20 per night is double the going rate, but they cap it at $100 per stay. They should go with the standard rate of $10 per night.
Location: Location is great, 1/4 mile from Scuttlebutts, a wonderful restaurant. Five minutes from free city beach and many beach access roads.
Spent seven nights here, staying one more night than we had planned.Location is great, 1/4 mile from Scuttlebutts, a wonderful restaurant. Five minutes from free city beach and many beach access roads. Twenty minutes from Padre Island National seashore park with great facilities, and free to seniors with pass. Rooms were large and well outfitted. Very comfortable king-size bed. Hot breakfast was hot even when showing up late in the morning, and the menu changes daily to keep things interesting and tasty.

Ok, but not worth the money

Posted 20-Jun-2015
Pros: The location
Cons: They need to exterminate and seal doors better.
Location: The location is good, close to the island and causeway. Good fishing near by.
The room was nice, but there were way too many bugs outside the rooms. Stink bugs, ants and other beetles that managed to make it inside the room. Found a dead bug under the sheets. The room door did not have a good seal, you could see through at the bottom. The room was comfortable otherwise.

2 nights in April

Posted 29-Apr-2015
Pros: Nicely appointed rooms and clean. Good rate for that weekend.
Cons: Healthier options for breakfast that would be dairy and gluten free. A nicer outdoor area with more green space seating and a walkway.
Location: It was a fine location to drive to most of everything that you need. I would like to have had less concrete.
We were visiting for 2 nights and found that most hotels on Mustang Island were taken or very expensive, so we elected to stay in this hotel, although not right on the beach. We were very pleased with the cleanliness, the nice rooms, and comfortable beds. The staff was nice and accommodating. The breakfast was good, although, I would like to have seen some healthier options. I am dairy and gluten free and there was not much for me, but my son and husband were satisfied. The only thing that would make the stay better is it had a nicer pool and outdoor seating area, as well as a walk way to walk around the hotel. However, the price through Expedia was excellent, as we found out the annual Sandfest was that weekend and that is why the costs were so high for that weekend. Overall, we were happy with our stay. The national seashore beach area was wonderful! Oh! Don't forget to visit the coffee shop across the street. Josef's cup.

Amazing view of bay

Posted 24-Apr-2015 on Hotels
What a surprise to see an endless view of Corpus Christi Bay. Actually thought it was the Gulf of Mexico until I Googled it! Our room was on 2nd floor with vaulted ceiling, two queens and a lovely ceiling fan. Without question, the time I spent with my son looking at expanse of water, marshes and natural environment was the best part of the stay. We were there to visit Texas A&M Corpus Christi and I'm so glad the nice hotels in Corpus were booked. Highly recommend this Padre Island Hotel as it's close to TAMUCC and the lovely seafood restaurants on the Island (not including Scuttlebutts - that restaurant served the worst frozen food we've ever paid for.)
