“Good all round hotel in Newquay”
Hotel looks a bit dated from the out side, but when you get in side its a different story. For its age they have done very well keeping it up together, and its so clean. The staff are really friendly, and will do their hardest to help. Some of the rooms do need some work, but mainly just need an updated bathroom fitted, but everything else is fine.
“The Hotel Victoria in Newquay is a very impressive looking hotel”
The Victoria is in a very central hotel in Newquay over looking the sea. It was built in 1897 and is beaufifully maintained inside and out. I had asked for a quiet room on a low floor and we got that in a large well furnished room and the plus was a lovely sea view as well as our original requests. The staff were polite and friendly, the breakfast was good and so was the service. We had dinner one night in the hotel and found the food excellent but unfortunetly was only a few people dining that night, so not much atmosphere in the dining room due to this, as it was a very large room. We ate out on the other nights of our stay as there was lots of choice very close to hotel. The indoor leisure facilities were good and had a view looking over the sea. There was also an exercise room and in another part of the hotel a pool table and a ballroom. Also there was free parking which is always a plus. There is one of the most popular night spots in Cornwall next door..I knew this so this is why I originally asked for a quiet room as this could be a problem with noise if you had a room on that side as I believe it was open most of the night weekends. However no noise came our way. We would definetly recommend this hotel.
“Great beach and sea views.”
Good hotel, friendly staff. Room a little dated, but very clean with great views. Good breakfast. Grandson really enjoyed the indoor swimming pool.
“Good value for money”
The hotel was in a prime position for all of the restaurants, bars and shops in Newquay and as a base for exploring Cornwall. The hotel was slightly dated in decor, but this suited the age and type of building. Beds were very comfortable and although there was no fridge in the room, it was perfectly fine. Best to get rooms on the coast side as we were looking out on to the road, which was very noisy as Newquay has turned into a major stag venue! Breakfast unfortunately was not as good and service was slow. Dinner was excellent, as was the choice of wines and there is a good size bar. Great value for money and would go back for this reason.
“very nice hotel”
well situated close to center of newquay, nice breakfast
