"hotel ok but they have got the leisure side wrong"
There are some really goods points; the bar area and lounge are very well done - although these areas clearly have been this way for many years and the regal look remains attractive. Room was ok; basic TV with no sky or movies as options.
My only reason for classing this hotel as generaly OK was the dissapointing spa area - sauna was the size of a telephone box, changing room had 1 seat to seat down on, tiny lockers, two showers which took up 3 times the space that everyone had to change in; whilst i was changing there were 7 people trying to dress in a 3 metre square area. Pool cleaning kit left by the bubble spa but easily the worst thing was the amount of locals that poored in, there seems to be a membership option meaning both the gym and pool area were populated by alot of them particulalry young lads aiming to get buff with their mates - I did speak to a couple of hotel guests who found it intimidating and far from inviting.
One more thng - the resurant staff were at times inexperienced; i had to ask for knives and forks etc which i thought was a given in that job.
On arrival we found the carpark was close by which was so convenient for us. Hotel staff were very helpful and we had all that we needed. We certainly hope to stay in a Best Western Hotel in the future as our first experience with you was such a pleasure.

We were looking for a hotel near Bude and Launceston and this hotel was perfect. I was a bit worried about a tourist staying at a golf course but there was no reason for concern. Staff at front desk and restaurant were very welcoming and friendly. Room was fantastic and beds were very comfortable. Tea and coffee and biscuits in room were a lovely touch. Sorry I can't recall her name but the waitress with the glasses who served us dinner and breakfast was amazing. Breakfast was included in price and included cold items and a lovely choice of delicious hot meals made fresh. Had the best chicken curry for dinner I have ever had. The front desk staff even fitted a few of our family members with a couple of clubs to hit a bucket of balls. All in all a great place to stay.

A great place to stay with fantastic views over the town and the whole coast. It is worth being aware that the hotel is up a steep hill. Once we had parked we didn't need to move the car again, but there are steep steps and paths down into the town that could present a problem to anyone with mobility issues.
Conventient to city centre, plenty of parking and pleasant views. Friendly staff and variety of choice of food which was well presented. Only drawback there was no lift and we were situated on third floor. Would definitely use this hotel again.

The building and ground are fantastic. The proximity to St Ives was also a plus. However the room was very small and stuffy. It has been really hot and even though the outdoor temperature had cooled the room remained very hot. The window did not open properly so it was hard to let air in. I also found the room quite small for the calibre of property, for two people there was bearly room to open a large suitcase on the floor. They would benefit by taking out some of the furniture like the extra chair. The service in the reception and restaurant were excellent.
