“nice location”

Beautiful location, great views from hotel room. Breakfast service was a bit slow. Good pleace to stay for travelling to surrounding areas.

“Nice Enough Place as a Base - Not Overexciting unless you're a golfer”

We stayed here one night as a stop-gap after a long journey. The hotel is lovely and right on a golf course. As we aren't golfers we weren't looked on very well by the other clientele and didn't fit in with the bar's dress code which we found snobbish and rude to be honest. So we went into the local village of camelford which looks nice but the bars are run down and horrible and the locals who venture out on a Friday night are the polar opposite of our toffee nosed friends in the golf club (think vicki pollard and you won't be far wrong) so we gave up, bought some drinks and stayed in the hotel. However - if you just want somewhere that is fairly central and intend to do a lot of travelling around cornwall, it's pretty ideally situated. If you want somewhere with a nice local area and plenty to do I'd suggest Padstow, where we spent the rest of our holiday having a fantastic time in a beautiful place.

Bowood Park Hotel will clearly be of particular interest to golfers as it is located within its own grounds, which includes a beautifully laid out golf course. The hotel seems very well suited to the golfing fraternity, equipped as it is with a Pro Shop and all the other parafernalia associated with golf, such as the buggies and motorised golf trolleys etc. Although we are not golfers, we thought that the hotel was situated in a beautiful setting that anyone would appreciate, especially when the sun is shining. Our room was very clean, if perhaps a little small and although the bathroom was very well equipped, with a good powerful shower, the heated towel rail was the only source of heating, which was not really sufficient when the outside temperatures, during our stay in mid March, were often as low as 4 degrees. The only significant gripe we had with our room, which was situated at the rear of the hotel, was the noise of the kitchen extractor fan, situated immediately below our room. Bed linen was changed every 2 days and fresh towels were provided daily. Although we did not dine at the hotel, the breakfasts were more than adequate. There are a number of pubs and restaurants located just a short drive away, where one can get a good meal at reasonable prices. We would go back to the Bowood Park.

“Excellent Value”

Very good value and friendly hotel. Staff very polite and the food was excellent. Didn't play the golf course but it looked in good condition and a good challenge. Only issue could be that it is out in the country so no bars/restaurants within walking distance. Would definitely visit again.

“Was OK”

Hotel was o.k, nice and clean rooms, lovely bathrooms, but just very quite, and a bit of a drive to find somewhere nice for dinner! o.k if your after total seclusion, otherwise i would recommend staying elsewhere.

“Ok hotel - bad food - no internet”

Internet not working. Resturant food poor. Nice staff. Rooms ok.

“Golfer's Paradise”

We would not recommend this hotel unless you are an avid golfer. We asked to move rooms away from the unsightly view of the putting green and were told that the hotel was too full to move us. The rooms are newly painted and clean--just very boring. We waited about an hour one morning for our cooked breakfasts because the kitchen was understaffed. Several tables of golfers had to cancel their breakfasts because of their green times, therefore going to play 18 holes of golf hungry. We would sooner stay at a B & B (which, as a general rule we do not stay in) over this hotel next time.
