We spent a truly relaxing weekend based at l'Auberge de la Gare, having travelled by rail from Geneva via Lausanne; the Auberge is a stone's throw from the station yet not disturbed by passing trains at all. The views are mesmerising, the auberge charming and homely yet with all modern comforts; it's popular with locals, who call in for a drink or a snack, and I imagine that a meal or drink in the sun on the terrace would be sheer heaven after a busy day.
Lutry is a beautiful and quaint little village on Lake Geneva, at the bottom of one of the oldest wine regions in Switzerland, and the Le Bourg 7 is right in the heart of the town, only a stone's throw from the lakefront and a number of fantastic restaurants. The hotel is stylish and comfortable and the service is outstanding. Breakfast is also delicious. Fantastic experience.
Excellent hotel and the view is amazing. The room was well organized with a desperate living room and bedroom. Staff were very helpful. It is further away from attractions which offers a quiet and tranquil stay. We loved walking in surrounding neighbourhood.
Experience We booked into the hotel for a one night stop-over on route to Italy. The hotel is a conference center and is geared to business users, at the time of our visit there were a number of delegates (from 3 different companies) attending training or seminars but this was not a problem to us traveling as a couple. It is in an elevated position close to the motorway, with large grounds and fantastic views across the lake. It was easy to find and has ample parking.
The room was a good size, large very comfortable bed, ample storage and free wi-fi. The staff were very helpful and English was widely spoken.
It has a nice bar over looking the lake. The restaurant had a reasonably priced set meal which was very nice. A good buffet breakfast was included in the price.
I would recommend this hotel for a stop-over.

Have stayed at this hotel a few times over the last 15 years or so, and it caters for both tourists & locals. It has always been well run & the staff are friendly.
As it dates back to the 19th Century it has plenty of character, so don't expect ultra-modern facilities. The breakfast is typical continental style, and staff are always on hand to help if required.
Wi-Fi is free, and hotel offers a local tourist card which offers discounts on local attractions, as well as free public transport in the area.

"Pretty, affordable but a bit far from city center"
The hotel's room was clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was great and the staff members were very helpful. Considering that Lausanne is an expensive city for hotels, this one is worth its value. The only slight inconvenience for turists is that is not exacty very central. Nonetheless one can reach the hotel using public transport without having to rely on taxis or rented cars.
Plus, all hotels in Lausanne, including this one, offer a free travel card which allows turist to travel for free within the city including the metro and buses.
To reach the hotel simpy one needs to take the metro line 2 and get off in the last stop called croissettes. Immediately out of that metro station one needs to take the bus number 64 and get off in the stop Chevreuil which is just 10 meters away from the hotel, very convenient.
One does not need to speak french to understand the transport network. The buses have a screen which show the name of the next bus stop. The website of the hotel has a link to all the timetible of the buses and metro, which are very important to look at as there are no metro or buses throught the night and taxis are very expensive in Lausanne.
