excellent location,main problem was the long stairs to reach the reception,no one to help from the street to reception area, staff were very helpful.

The main advantages are the central location, good price in August and nice bar. The hotel needs work done on it. It' s seen better days. The breakfast was completely disorganised, the milk off two mornings running and the staff need retraining. Haviing said that you are right in the centre and it' s good value in the summer.

“not impressed at all”

I was travelling on my own and was given a room on the top floor. It rained very hard during the night and sounded as if the rain was coming into the room. There were several damp patches on the ceiling. The light above the bed didn't work and looked as if it wasn't connected to anything. The room was therefore very dark and depressing. To have enough light to read I had to turn on the bathroom light which also turned on the dehumidifier making a very loud noise. There was no lid on the toilet cistern and wires sticking out of the wall. This all led to an overall seedy and depressing feel to the hotel. It is generally not well kept and the carpets are very dark and worn in parts. It is close to the centre of town but I wouldn't recommend it. If you do go there try not to get a room on the top floor if it is raining!
