“Good hotel, 5 mins from downtown”
This was a good hotel. The beds were a little hard but not terrible. Though on a major road I could only hear the passing traffic faintly. It was only a 5 min drive to downtown.
“Good location. Pool old and a long way had to drive”
Good. Easy to drivet to everything
“Room smelled - not impressed at all.”
There was a smell to the room which I couldn't identify. Beds were extremely hard. Lobby was small and crowded. Wouldn't choose this hotel again.
“Nice hotel...”
...shame about the location. It's in Tivoli, which isn't really walking distance to Cork city. For some reason I expected it to be closer. Staff pleasant and courteous, room service excellent. Breakfast choices are good, food could be warmer. Shockingly the €50 evening family meal deal (2 courses for 2 adults & 2 kids) was cheaper than eating out.
“Not disabled friendly at all”
This hotel has made no efforts to adapt some of their rooms for disabled guests (except for a single badly placed grab rail in the bathroom) Also, to use public transport to get into the centre, you need to climb up a very long steep hill and to use the health and fitness centre, you also need to climb up a long hill making it inaccessible to us. Reception staff were not very helpful or thoughtful e.g. directing us to the smaller lift when there was a bigger lift which would have been better for the wheelchair! The room was hot and stuffy too which did not make for a good night's sleep.
“Modern hotel, great service”
Not much to look at from the outside but the Silver Springs is a smart, modern and clean hotel set in large grounds on the outskirts of Cork. Our room was spacious and comfortable, if a little noisy from the main road-not a problem if it weren't for the heatwave requiring windows to be wide open! Reception staff were all extremely helpful & friendly. Restaurant staff were all very friendly but quality of service varied! Breakfast was very good, although not all advertised options were avaiable. The evening menu & food was better than expected for a chain hotel but was let down by service & ambience - we had to ask 3 times for our wine & weren't given correct menus initially. Transport is the only big issue - it's about 10Euro for a taxi to the city centre & buses are either 5 mins walk and unreliable/infrequent or 15 mins very brisk walk up a steep hill (but cheap). If you want to explore Co. Cork by car it would be a great base as major routes are all nearby. If staying around the city, or using public transport, you might be better off more central.
“ottimo”
ottimo hotel stanze spaziose e pulite
