“Great people, great time”
Alice at the front desk upgraded us to a Garden Suite as our room was not ready on arrival - so my friend and I got to share a three bedroom three bathroom townhouse! Great service! The spa was also amazing - and Anne-Marie, the therapist I had was great. Would return again to the Carlton Kinsale - and probably will be there for the Rugby 7's next year.
“regular vistor”
food in the restaruant very poor not in keeping with the high standard in the hotel elsewhere
“Too far from Kinsale”
Even tho their website and the information sheet in the room refer to their shuttle service which leads you to believe getting to and from Kinsale is provided, the shuttle only begins at 6PM. I like full disclosure from a hotel and this was not. Would not stay there again. Too far to walk and meant a $15 cab ride each way.
“nice hotel but out of town”
Hotel is fairly new, rooms are nice and large (don't know about a standard room; we were upgraded). Attractive but without local charm--it is a U.S.-style hotel. Location is a few miles outside Kinsale, via a winding road. Breakfast was fine. Would find a B&B next time.
“Worst Stay Ever in the Cork Area - Regular Business Traveller”
This was the worst experience I have had in the Cork area in 12 years. The staff was ill trained and not customer focused. Do NOT book this hotel if you are a business traveller - you will be disappointed. You expect more from a Carlton, apparently someone forgot to tell the staff. Too many issues to mention for a 2 day stay. We stayed in Killarney at the Ross before arriving here - the difference was like night and day (The Ross was fantastic).
