We booked a last minute trip to Corfu and whilst I had a few choices of hotel I wanted something nice for our first wedding anniversary. The hotel was good but I think it's unfair to say it's five star. It probably was 20 years ago but now its safe to say it's more of a 4 star hotel with service to match. The food though was excellent though we dined a lot outside the hotel despite have half board, just because we like traditional tavernas. Drinks were expensive both in he hotel and generally in Corfu town. Bit of a contrast to the north of the island where you could get the drinks and food half the price we found when hiring a car. Anyway, the room was clean and tidy, the staff were polite and the sea view from the balcony was lovely. Room service if you needed it but if you fancied a cup of tea there was nothing in the room which is normally for five star hotels. They generally like you to pay for th me
Room service. Reception was nice and there's a casino in the hotel, apparently the only one on the island.. Beds were comfy and room was made up on a daily basis. Well the bed was at least. Wifi worked great when I did need it I managed to stream a movie via my phone to the t which hdmi last thing before sleep. One of our neighbours politely asked us to turn the TV down at night!! It wasn't on that loud but because there was a adjoining door to the next room obviously they could hear it.. Bit of a shame as he volume shouldn't have been heard at such a low volume

Great hotel. The staff was charming and helpful. The bar area was very nice. Even though it is not my cup of tea, there was some entertainment every evening. The pool was a bit small but adequate since it is an adult-only hotel. It was about 25 minutes on foot from the old town, which made for a pleasant walk back in the evening but you could also take a bus (every 20 minutes, €1.10 if you bought your ticket at the kiosk across the road). There were a lot of lovely restaurants nearby. I would strongly recommend Avli. Overall, we had a great experience and would not hesitate to go back.

We were so pleased to have chosen this hotel. Had we gone somewhere else we would never have discovered this beautiful part of Corfu. The hotel has several cliff top bars and restaurants with breath taking views and front seat views of planes taking off and landing. The staff were amazing. The hotel is dated but you couldn't ask for more for the money that we paid.

The staff are excellent and nothing is too much trouble, the room was clean and fine for 2, though it had a third bed and three in the room would have been cramped. The food was good and the pool bar served great choices. The pool sun beds were too few for the number of guests and as this was not height of season it must be impossible to get a subbed later in the season.
This was important as there is a lack of beaches in both the surrounding area and Corfu tow do not have a beach.
The blue bus service which runs from outside the hotel is value for money at €5 per day unlimited usage and is quite an experience and runs every 20 mins. This is useful as there is only 1 taverna within walking distance. Plenty of cash points within walking distance and car hire and super market next to hotel.

Walked to the hotel from the airport, easily. A less than one minute very early morning cab ride to the airport was overpriced, but it was too early to walk (still dark).
The actual stay at the hotel was fine with the exception of the noise from the street. This made it impossible to open the balcony doors for fresh air and it was very warm so had to use AC, which I dislike.

The island's elegant capital, Corfu Town centres on the Spianada, a large, well-kept green where locals play cricket, and the Liston, a 19th-century, French-designed arcade housing old-fashioned cafes. Guarded by two massive fortresses, the Italianate old town is a warren of old churches, smart boutiques and traditional tavernas. There is a busy port and large yachting marina on the waterfront. Daily excursions run across the channel to Albania.
