This is a small hotel, part of a Danish national chain, in the more affluent Northern suburbs of Copenhagen but close to outlying business districts such as Lyngby. It's easy to reach by public transport from Copenhagen airport (tube, then change onto 'S-tog' (suburban train#, then easy walk from station#. Similarly very easy to get into Copenhagen for sight-seeing #'S-tog' direct every ten minutes#. The building itself is an old coaching-inn but modernised and significantly extended. The building is a little worn in places but quite acceptable.
It was very quiet when I was there #on business# but filled rapidly with mainly Danish families over Easter. My room was comfortable #think Premier Inn but better beds, bathroom and food# although the corridors are 'functional' - reminded me of ships' corridors.
Breakfasts are typical North-European: buffet-style with cereals, meats, Danish pastries and good coffee; service was a little sparse if you needed anything, though. Dinner was surprisingly good for such a small, suburban hotel and, given the quality of the food and presentation, it seemed reasonable value given that Denmark is expensive by UK standards.
All the staff were pleasant and helpful; the environs too are pleasant #large lake close by, a small local shopping centre#.
This was a last-minute booking which turned out well - a quiet, unimposing, comfortable hotel in a pleasant suburban district but with good communications to Copenhagen and local centres.
The Scandic Eremitage is excellently located in Lyngby on top of a large shopping plaza (complete with a 7-11 convenience store, numerous cafes, and a grocery store), with local buses stopping just outside. It is within walking distance of the train station, local car rental agencies, and additional shopping. The hotel offers free underground (validated) parking, free (plentiful and delicious) breakfast, free wifi, and very friendly staff. Rooms open up onto a shared balcony that surrounds the building.
The luxury is in the location. The hotel is otherwise neat and clean but unspectacular with an occasion unpleasant smell coming from the bathroom drains. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to others based primarily on the location. It is a bit pricy but the savings in not taking taxis to your final destination will be well worth it.
Listed as a luxury hotel, which it may be by Danish standards. Luckily, we had upgrade to junior suite with balcony, sofa and en-suite. If we had a standard room, it would have been far too small.
Breakfast adequate, all cooked well and it has a restaurant, pub and takeaway attached (which we didnt use) which were busy all the time. Seems popular for business users, and functions. We had to listen to music blaring from a wedding downstairs until 3am, when I complained. The hotel discounted our bill for the one nights disturbance, which was kind, but felt we should have been made aware when we booked, as with the charge of 4% for using a foreign credit card. None of this is mentioned by Expedia either.
This Copenhagen 3-star hotel is located near Danish Aquarium and Deer Park. Another nearby point of interest is …More
Not really close to copenhagen but if you've rented a car this place is great.
Its reasonable distance to elisnore and fredriksborg.
The hotel is in a nice neighbourhood and the rooms are reasonable size and very clean.
Also the price is very good compared to a place inside copenhagen. There's a train station but it's not within walking distance.
If you want an anonymous samey business hotel this is not for you! But if you want a friendly comfortable place to stay where you don't wake up wondering which country you are in then stay here. The decor is different and the staff friendly but efficient and the Networking Event held every evening Monday-Thursday is a great way for people to meet in a relaxed environment and the drinks are on the house. The two restaurants on site, whilst not owned by the hotel provide excellent food.
