“great place to stay and enjoy Copenhagen”
The hotel is pretty sleek and so are the rooms. It is located right at the city centre, 5 min walk from the central station and 5 minute walk from the main tourist attractions. And if you are more into non-touristy places, the hotel is also conveniently located to explore other areas of the city. I think the hotel is one of the best in the area and is probably one of the only places you could actually spend a full day in bed watching TV.
“Central, stylish but....”
...a bit noisy. Five minutes from station, right in the heart of everything. Modern, stylish, well-designed, great room. Staff really nice, all speak perfect English. Breakfast expensive but fine. Only thing is - metro, trains, cars, nightclubs; all the usual city centre stuff. I stayed ona Saturday night. I usually sleep like a log, with ear plugs. But I was woken up by the bass drum from a nearby night club. Best thing was the Australian themed restaurant opposite - absolutely fantastic food.
“the location was superb”
The hotel was very good and clean. our view wasn't the best but im sure there are better views. The location was superb, right in the heart of Copenhagen. The only downside to the hotel is they don't tell you they want 500krone when you check in to cover the minibar. They only accept credit cards or cash so if you don't have a credit card you have to give them a portion of your spending money, you get it back at the end but no point having spending money on the way home
“No wireless internet in the rooms? How outdated!”
I was very impressed with the clean and modern hotel reception when I walked in. It's in a great location opposite the town hall, surrounded by bars and restaurants, and 5 minutes walk from the central station. The staff were very friendly (the receptionist told me that she'd just come back from a weekend in London and remarked how mad the UK goes for Hallowe'en!) She asked me if I would be using the internet, and I expected to be given a code like in most hotels around the world nowadays, but to my great surprise she checked that it was with a laptop and was about to give me a network cable! I replied that I only had my iPad with me and she apologised that there's NO WIRELESS INTERNET in the rooms - only in the reception area and restaurant! If I'd have known this I'd never have booked this hotel. I imagine most business travellers would say the same. In this age of wireless internet devices i really think they need to modernise and widen their wireless reach. until they do that, I'll be staying elsewhere. There's plenty of choice after all!
“good location with not so helpful staff”
hotel is located conveniently near the train station, town hall and Stroget (the pedestrian only shopping street). hotel staff was minimally helpful when asked to assist in direction. they couldn't tell me the street one block away. no WiFi in room has to go to the lobby.
“Not the cheapest, but worth it”
Having tried many Cph hotels over the years and finding highly variable value for money, the opening of The Square some years ago conclusively solved the problem. It's not the cheapest place, but I've found it friendly and 100% dependable, and the location is - of course - unbeatable.
“Well located, friendly staff”
Big plus was convenient access to/from Koebenhavn H (Central Station) 5-10 minutes from hotel, depending on whether you have luggage with you. Arrived from Singapore too early for access to room but we were given access to facilities to change. After a pleasant time exploring shops and the fabulous one hour canal tour from Nyhaven we checked into our room only to be disappointed to find that a superior double room did not get us tea and coffee making facilities. Had to have an executive room for something that should be basic. Also disappointing was the shower was barely hot. Breakfast was not included so we did not check out the hotel restaurant, finding cheaper options nearby. WiFi was free but only works in the lobby area. The staff were very happy to store our larger luggage while we went off to Skagen for two nights. The room we were given on our return had a hot shower. The hotel had some water damage from recent heavy rain but the only evidence was lack on carpet in parts of the hotel.
“Loved Location”
Assigned room on 6th floor front with balcony. Beautiful view, although construction for metro going on in square down below in front of city hall. Lively area of town. Walking distance to central train station. One block away from Tivoli. Shopping street starts just across the square. Walked to all sight-seeing locations from hotel. City traffic noise, but not enough to interfere with sleep. Modern decor. Clean modern bathroom. No wireless internet in room, but high speed cable connection available. Saved money on rate by not signing up for breakfast, and instead bought breakfast at nearby cafes. Coffee set up in room, but not always replenished when room was cleaned.
“Very Impressed!”
Excellent location for the Central station,Tivoli and others sights being on the main square. Very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms were stylish and comfortable if you do not mind a soft and rather springy bed and no tea or coffee facilities in the room. Breakfast was very good. Good security, you have to use a keycard to exit the lift or stairwell on all floors except the ground. I would certainly stay there again. (Beware the Australian restaurant opposite, the food was delicious and well presented but there were too few staff. They seemed to get there priorities wrong spending too much time telling us about the dish that was put in front of us and frequently forgetting to bring other things that we had ordered. The portions were small and it was very expensive and they refused to give us our 10% discount because we forgot to ask for it before the bill arrived)
“too small bed even for a single room”
Single rooms seem to have only a very narrow bed, not worthy a hotel of this quality.
