“Grand old Hotel”

It is an old hotel but comfortable, at first we were shown a basic room, not very nice but they found us another, bigger and better view, not bad at all, Mikkel was very helpful.

Area recommendations

The hotel was very central for the railway, 9 minuts from the airport, frequent trains. Many resturants in the vicinity, recomend the brewery and Andersens cafe/bakery. The Frascati resturant in the hotel was also very good, Italiand food only.

Getting around

get a 10 clip ticket card in the airport, two clips into town, remember to clip before boarding train, in town it can be used on all buses and Metro, you can go anywhere in the city on one clip and change to Metro without clip as long as it is in one hour.

“grand hotel”

The hotel is conveniently located near the central station. Room was good though basic. It had only a desk, bed, bath, a couple of lamps and chairs. No coffee machine, fridge, vault etc. Can be noisy in the mornings. Breakfast is good. Room was non-smoking but was heavy with smokers on floor. Smoke was heavy in the corridor and my eyes would burn in the room feeling the smoke coming in. Jacket hung in closet near front door smelled of smoke.

this is pretty decent although it is very close to the red light area if you make a few wrong turns. Unwanted characters.

“not impressed , pictures just lied !”

the room was extremely small but the bed is worst. Never stay in any hotel to pay this much for kind of roll away bed with the size of coffin. Every time you moved , the bed top will move down kind of slip out of the bed so same as you. Nightmare of horror. !

“Grand Hotel-Copenhagen”

Hotel was very old, dated, small, cramped, smelled of smoke, definately not a 4 star that I am used to. Way overpriced, staff not very friendly or helpful.

“comfortable, helpful staff”

I booked a room for one, and found it very clean and comfortable. The room fit a twin-sized bed, desk and armoire with plenty of room to spare. As a note, my particular bath had no tub, but it wasn't a big deal to me. The hotel is located really close to the main train station, so it was fast and easy to make the transfer from airport to train, to hotel. I arrived at night for a late check-in and there was staff on hand to help me. It was raining during my stay, and the front desk lent me an umbrella. Overall, very happy with the quality of my experience.

“Grand CPH”

Lived up to the billing so to speak - spartan room, but with all the basics and flat panel tv. As with most hotels throughout Europe during summer peak, expect no a/c and don't show up for breakfast 15 minutes before the buffet closes! The reason to stay in this hotel is central location - right next to central train station and on the main road into the action throughout downtown Copenhagen. Tivoli Gardens is a couple of minutes away. In-house Italian restaurant was quite good as was breakfast offering.

“Very Good Deal”

What a great value and such a convenient location to everything in Copenhagen. It was very easy to get to on the train from the airport and they have the most awesome buffet breakfast that I have ever seen in any hotel that comes included. We will be back!! It was very clean and had a very friendly staff.

Area recommendations

Get a Copenhagen Card and then go on the Hop On Hop Off bus - this is the best deal around!!!

And you were lucky to leave Copenhagen just before massive rainfalls hit start of July making it a very wet Summer. Thankfully the wetter has improved.

“A nice and convenient place to stay”

I was nervous about staying here, having read mixed reviews, but it turned out beter than I expected. We were upgraded to a junior suite for no reason, and the room layout was good, and spacious. There were some worn aspects to the room - some marks on the ceiling etc. - but nothing that interfered with our stay. The service was excellent, the concierge giving us good advice about local laundry facilities, as we'd missed the deadline for their laundry service. The breakfast buffet was extensive, and the Internet access good. The hotel is so close to the train station, making it convenient but noisy with the window open. I would stay there again if I wanted somewhere convenient.

“Clean tidy hotel right in the centre of city”

Had a great stay ,the hotel was very clean and tidy but in places could do with upgrading. TV sad, no movies not many English speaking channels! Would have liked tea and coffee making facilities in the room then all would have been perfect. No where to sit ie lounge area to sit and have a coffee etc, shame.

The shopping is fantastic,the city busy and full of fun !! Food great but drinking out is beyond expensive!
