“trains trains and more trains”
The hotel is in a good location allowing for easy transfers using the local trains from the airport. Its location in the east of the central part of the city give good access to several of the major attractions. On the down side the location of the hotel is just by the main train line through the city and should your room be on the track side of the hotel (50% of the rooms), then all but the heaviest sleepers will be affected. Bear in mind that the trains run through the night.
“An OK Hotel”
This is an OK hotel, I booked having read the other reviews re the trains but with the window closed you couldn't really hear them. The room was fine, no complaints at all but it is a bit of trek into the centre of town. I'd give it a 6 out of 10.
“be prepared for the noises”
all else are ok for a 3 star hotel, except for the fact that it's right on the rail track, not recommend unless you don't mind the noise of passing trains. i wouldn't mind it that much either had i been warned of this fact when booking with the expedia!
“Views on First Hotel Osterport”
The train tracks were very close to the room but not too disturbing. I think though that with the absence of an elevator, some assistance should be given in getting the bags to the room
“Mediocre”
Hotel has carpet stains and is run down. Beds are ok and sheets and towels are clean so no worries on that front. You get 2 stations on TV. If you just plan on sleeping there, then it is fine.
“Disappointing.”
3 tv channels working, two danish and one german. No news channels (No cnn -sky-bbc or like) Old tube-TV defective, turned off every 10 minutes. Train noise very loud. Pillows a joke. One for each bed, sized for a doll house. Maids all from Poland, spoke polish, but after a pantomime, they brought two more pillows for us. Breakfast buffet not impressive, black bacon, no eggs, horrible juice. No parking near hotel, you walk for 150 yards. Drop off possible, though.
“Noisy and not comfortable”
My colleague stayed at the hotel for one night on his second business trip to Copenhagen, where he has a 5-month assignment. I have been looking for a centrally located hotel, that could offer comfort and good service at a reasonable price. Comfort Hotel is right on the train lines, thus very, very noisy. My colleague didn't get any sleep at all. Also, the condition of the hotel wasn't great and there was a funny smell throughout the hotel. Although service was good, we are not going back.
“Avoid the rooms on the right”
This is a standard hotel with little in the way of positive features. It also sits next to an extremely busy raliway line. If you do chose to stay there please ensure you ask for a room on the left of the corridors as the ones on the right are within touching distance of the railway line, and this is extremely noisy!
“Loud...”
I'm sure the rooms by the tracks aren't a problem most of the time, but Copenhagen was unusually hot. You WILL boil or be kept awake by the S-train in summer...guaranteed. Actually, we did both simultaneously. And regardless of what you may read on the 'net, there is NO air conditioning. Normal for Copenhagen, but don't be misled. The bathtub drains strangely. Through the waste pipe, then to a grate in the floor. The bathroom floods every time you take a shower. EVERY time. My semi-handicapped husband worried about slipping. Then, just for fun, when we got back the second night, we were locked out of our room...because we were "supposed to have checked out". Funny, they left our things in the room. We were offered the room at the (MUCH higher) rack rate. However, I was able to produce my paperwork showing the room was pre-paid for the second night. As scam, a mistake...who knows? It left a sour taste in our mouths.
“Train tracks 15 feet from your window”
The hotel lobby is nice enough, and the location is removed from the downtown core of Copenhagen, but easily accessible from the train across the street. One to two stops into where you would want to be. You are probably looking at this hotel because of the cheap room price, well you get what you pay for: no daily cleaning service, very minimal linens, even the TV you have to pay for. But most of all, the train is literally 15 feet from your window, so I hope you can sleep soundly.
