“Too noisy if your room is facing street”
Too noisy if your room is facing street. The local traffic starts early in the morning and ends late at night. If you are looking for a quiet place, this is not your choice. No AC in the room, in summer you will have to open your window for air, which makes the noise 10 times worse. Staff was very nice. Courtyard was cute. Location was the best thing I like about this hotel.
“good location”
Hotel is in walking distance of Tivoli gardens and hop on hop off bus. Friendly english speaking Staff. Only problem is noise a night from across the street. So get a room not facing the street.
“Great hotel”
I would definitely recommend First Hotel Kong Frederik. It's centrally located and the staff was extremely helpful.
“Great location”
Great location, you can get anywhere in downtown Copenhagen from this hotel by foot. (town square, Tivoli, Stroget, harbour cruise). Two items prevent hotel from being perfect. 1) No air conditioning leaving room at times stuffy. 2) get room away from front of hotel. After hours Nightclub (11PM to 7AM) Thursday-Saturday is right across the street from hotel.
“A very homely place.”
This hotel is very convenient for the tourist, being just a short walk from Tivoli gardens, the main shops and the railway station. No taxis needed here. We had a very comfortable room. Coffee making facilities are not available in the rooms but complimentary drinks ( two cokes, a couple of beers and water) were available in the room bar and there is a very nice free coffee making machine in the central covered atrium which made up for it. The English style mealsl in the restaurant were very good (and no more pricey that other eating places close by) and for the discerning beer drinker, they have a range of excellent local bottled beers. My only disappointment was the range of viewing on the TV. There were very limited channels, at best with English subtitles and the one channel which should have been useful (BBC World News) didn't work. A greater range of viewing for winter trippers would be appreciated. Although we only booked two nights initially, we chose to stay here two more nights when the dreaded snow shut down Heathrow and left us stranded. I just had to have a few more of those excellent beers!
“In the center of Copenhagen”
Good hotel, lift slow take the stairs but close to most thinks in the city only parking was 5-7 mins away. Internet good
“Does what it says on the label”
A good hotel, value for money. Is easy to find and get to/from the airport. Staff are friendly and helpful. I would stay there again. Only confusion is some call this the First Kong and some the Kong Frederick, they are the same.
“A Nice hotel in the centre”
First Hotel is newly rennovated and situated at the heart of the centre, clean and with quality service. just dont take the penthouse as ventilation not so good at summer and be noisy with windows open Better to take bus 5A from airport as the bus stop is only one step away from the hotel, not to take Metro, +15 min walk, or train, 10 min walk. RC
“Comfortable and near City Hall & Tivoli”
Hotel is centrally located and we didn't use any transportation at all. Explored the sites using maps. The front desk spoke English and assistance was wonderful. Decor is older but room is clean. After reading the reviews, I was skeptical. The price was right and we were satisfied. We secured our luggage while the room was getting ready. Many use this hotel prior to cruising.
“a lot better than the rest”
hotels in copenhagen are usually expensive and the rooms bare basics with little or no frills. it was good to find a hotel that bucks the danish trend with nice rooms, comfortably furnished and tastefully decorated. the atrium is great if you want a complimentary coffee and a paper to read and the location is perfect as it is 2 mins from copenhagen central station, tivoli gardens and the main shopping streets i will definitely return to this hotel as i visit copenhagen regularly and this is the first hotel i can say this about
