“Basic”

Shower drain was blocked and flooded, very small room which had been categorised as "superior", basic breakast.

Location, price, breakfast, comfort all fine. However my room smelt slightly of urine - they need better cleaning of the carpet etc.

“Happy to recommend”

Clean, comfortable and well positioned for both tourist sites and shopping streets. Helpful staff. We enjoyed watching the canal traffic from the balcony of our room.

Getting around

Copenhagen is flat. A canal trip is a good introduction to the city but be prepared to walk.

“Weekend at the Strand”

We were at the Strand as part of a wedding group and were very satisfied with our executive room. However, members of our party who had booked tourist class rooms thought they were paying far too much for too little.

Area recommendations

Nyhavn area for atmosphere and access to restaurants, bars and harbour / canal tours by boat is recommended.

“Great hotel for price and location!”

The Copenhagen Strand provided a great hotel stay, good value for price paid for hotel room, and fantastic location. The hotel is within 4 block of both Hyhavn restaurants/bars and Kongens Nytorv Metro Station (metro to Copenhagen Int'l Airport) and about 8 blocks from Amalienborg Palace. The hotels open up to the harbor. The room was clean and a reasonable size (comparable to other 3-star European hotels) and had a large sized bathroom (comparable to 3-star American hotels). The breakfast (included) was great with many hot and cold items from which to choose. The lobby had 3 comfortable sitting areas and the friendly-staffed front desk included a reasonably priced bar that was open throughout the day. The looby also had free hi-speed wi-fi (much appreciated). Our room included an hour-long canal/harbor boat tour for a small surcharge. It was the highlight of our stay. I highly recommend this hotel and look forward to returning to Copenhagen.

“Loved it”

“Strand Copenhagen”

Basic guest services, no airport shuttle service. Metro station is <10 minute walk (closer than train station) metro trains run every 5 minutes most of the day. Very good complimentary breakfast, easy walk to city center and canals. Good deal for the money.

Area recommendations

If you don't mind walking, the Strand is within walking distance of most city features including Tivoli. Like most Scandanivian places we visited, handicaped access in the city is not very good.
