“far away and trains going by all night long”

this hotel is miles away from the centre of copenhagen. a good 15 minute walk to the nearest train station which is ironic as the adina is situated directly on the train tracks and the noise kept us up all night long. the rooms look lovely and the pool and sauna are nice but you need to be able to sleep in your hotel and you can't in the adina. lack of sleep ruined our stay

“Location was key for us!”

Comfortable hotel and great proximity to airport and cruise terminal. Train from the airport to Osterport and a 1 km walk to the hotel. A 1 km walk to the cruise ship. We stayed one day pre cruise and one day post cruise so we could see the sites of Copenhagen and we followed the walking tour- about 15 kms in total so might not be for everyone but we certainly appreciated the proximity to the Little Mermaid and the Kastelete etc etc. Loved Copenhagen and very much appreciated the hotel accomodating our luggage on both ends of the trip. Comfy room with kitchenette if you want to bring in food. Dining room in the hotel was fine and there is a pizzeria across the road and a lovely convenience store and bakery nearby as well.

Area recommendations
take the walking tour mapped out on the city map. Canal cruise/tour a must.

“A pleasant experience.”

A smart, modern hotel, in a quiet location. 20 minutes walk from city centre, 10 from nearest rail station. Close to parks and canals.

“For Copenhagen Cruise Hotel, best place to stay”

Convenient to the Cruise Ship Terminal and to the little Mermaid Statue. Walkable to the Rosenburg Castle. Hotel / Apartment was clean, beds were very comfortable and a Netto Grocery store was located in the same building allowing you to buy water, snacks, etc for the apartment & / or to take on the ship. I would recommend this hotel to anyone needing one or two nights before or after a cruise.

Area recommendations
Adina is a good place to stay if you are taking a cruise, but is further away from the main part of town. I would recommend the Tivoli Gardens area of town if you are staying longer and waiting to explore all of Copenhagen.

“Great home base for a 3 night stay”

Although Adina Hotel is a little bit removed from the central touristy area of Copenhagen we didn't find this to be a problem. It's a convenient 10 minute walk from one of the major train stations (Osterport). From Osterport it is a short 6-10 minute ride to Copenhagen S (the main downtown station). Although another reviewer complained about the hotel being too far from any attractions to walk, we walked everywhere without a problem, including Nyhavn and all the way over to Christiania (we like to walk). We didn't find out until we checked out, but the hotel also rents bicycles. The neighborhood was quiet and clean and seemed very safe. The hotel staff was very helpful while being unobtrusive. We ate at the hotel restaurant one night and the food was very good. Although Adina is a little pricier than a regular hotel, having the kitchen allowed us to save money overall because we cooked most of our own meals. There is a small grocery store (Netto) in the same building as the hotel, which was very convenient. Having a washer/drier in our room saved us the time and expense of going to a laundry. Everything was very clean and modern and we had a nice, though small, balcony overlooking the courtyard.

“Could be better”

Good location and well maintained spacious hotel room. Had to wait both evening and morning for hot water over half an hour. Some front desk staff members were not helpful at all esp. in evening hours. Hoped the hotel will provide free Wi Fi and loaning electric adaptors for US customers. Wish to have free breakfast.

“Well equipped apartment hotel”

Bright and well appointed with a small kitchenette, fully equipped with eating and cooking utensils, cups and plates. Included microwave, washer dryer, iron and ironing board. The separate bedroom had a huge cupboard. The hotel had a gym and pool and pretty courtyard with seating and a play area for children. There was free wi-fi and a large and comfortable lounge area with coffee machine (fee for the coffee). There was an adjacent restaurant and also a small pizzeria immediately across the courtyard as well as a supermarket just steps away from the hotel. The #26 bus stopped just around the corner and within 5 minutes could be a Tivoli or in 10 minutes at Nyhavn. All in all an excellent choice especially for a longer stay. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

“Copenhagen hotel for cruise passengers”

This hotel is very close to the cruise ship dock, but it is a little far away from the center of Copenhagen. From the airport, take the train to the Osterport station and the #26 bus to the stop nearest the hotel which is Pakhusvej, otherwise it is a longer walk if you get off before this stop. The #26 bus takes about 20 minutes to get to the city center, Kongens Nytorv, and 5 to 10 minutes to and from the nearby Osterport train station. The bus drivers were very helpful. If you want to cook, you must book a one bedroom unit. The studios do not have a full kitchen only a microwave, and a small refrigerator, and the local grocery store on the corner near the hotel does not have too much in terms of prepared food that can be heated in a microwave. The units do have the basics for simple cooking and eating in. It is great for people with children, since you can fix breakfast in the room. There is a bakery about a block away. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and the whole place was immaculate. I do recommend this hotel. It is a great value for the money.

Area recommendations
I would recommend a walk along the water from the Little Mermaid statue to Nyhavn Canal to Kongens Nytorv or beyond, through Ostergade and Stroget to City Hall. The walk can also be done in the reverse. On the way there is a beautiful gardens near Amalienborg Palace. You can see the opera house across the water, the playhouse, and some of the other major city sites. The whole walk will allow one to get a good overall view of the city.
Getting around
Before you buy a Copenhagen card, it is advisable to add up your transportation costs and entrance fees, to see if it is a good value. I found that the blue 10 ride 2-zone klipperport card was adequate for 2 people to share over the course of 3 days, provided you plan to do some walking. Trains, metro and bus all use the same ticket, and can be used for an hour after the first use. Fare costs are by zone. Some of the museums and galleries are free all of the time or on certain days. Most of the palaces charge an entrance fee. Get a good guide book and map and plan to walk around the city center.
Must see
Christianborg Palace and Rosenborg Castle in Copenhagen are well worth a visit. Fredericksborg in Hillerod is a short train ride into the countryside and is a sight worth seeing. The National Museum has an excellent collection depicting Danish history and archeological finds. The Round Tower is unique and offers a great view of the city after a not too arduous climb on the circular ramp to the top. Unless you plan to go on the rides in Tivoli Garden, just plan to walk around and look at the gardens and have something to eat, as the whole place is really restaurant row, albeit a pretty one with some free music and performances thrown in. A walk from Kogens Nytorv through the pedestrian walk along Ostergade, through the Stroget area to City Hall is great way to see the local people at work and play.
