“Great value”
That is a good value for expensive Copenhagen
“Satisfactory”
I'd recommend this hotel to others. The location is great with a 5 minutes walk from the Central Train Station...13 minutes from the airport. Not to mention the public bus transportation which was plentiful if you don't feel like walking. A pack of 10 bus tickets costs 14 DK. We rode the bus to and from the cruise ships terminal. The room was quite spacious for the European standard size. Very clean throughout the interior of the hotel. The only disappointment was I thought when I made the reservation, breakfast was included.
“Good apartment”
Good apartment, centrally located. Well equipped room.
“Would use again.”
Well located with pleasant,friendly,staff.
“Well located hotel giving very good value for money”
I stayed for a week (21-28 Aug)and thought the hotel represented excellent value for money. It has a great location 2 minutes walk from the station (a great plus for me as I got trains to places of interest out of Copenhagen on several days, as well as travelling to and from the airport by train). The only drawback of the area is its slightly sleazy nature (prostitutes often loiter near the hotel, soliciting custom) but its on a main road and never felt unsafe. I had a single room, which was a reasonable size, clean, well laid out and rather stylish (considering the price band) with a proper desk area at which to write. I was particularly pleased to have a proper bath as well as a shower. My main quibble with the roon was the lack of adequate storage: there were aboslutely no drawers of any kind, and just one shelf in the wardrobe. My room was on the 4th floor overlooking the courtyard and was really quiet, except that several mornings there were very loud metallic noises in the courtyard about 6 am (bin collection?) which usually woke me up, particularly as I had to leave the window open every night due the heat inside the room (even though it was not particularly hot outside). The staff were friendly and helpful. I was surprized that no safe deposit facilities for valuables were available when I arrived (as all the boxes were in use), but a box did become free later on the evening of my arrival.
“Copenhagen”
Nice place. Good neighborhood. helpful staff hallways noisy at late night but fine place
“Following in the steps of Absalon”
Located fairly close to the central station; it is a short walk from many places to visit, Located in what was formerly the red light district, the main area has now become home to a range of restaurants and shops. the hotel has a breakfast room, which I was unable to visit due to my personal and work commitments, so I am unable to comment upon it. The hotel is also able to sell you a range of tourist tickets and gifts. It seems to be a well known hotel.
“Great location & staff”
Perfect location and couple of minutes walk from the back entrance of the central train station. Rooms seemed old but perfectly acceptable for the price we paid. Staff were great - dealt with all our queries and also allowed us a late afternoon check out as we had a late flight. Overall a well run hotel right in the centre for a good price.
“Simple, comfortable, gets the job done.”
Close to the Central Station, the Hotel needs some updating. Rooms are clean and reasonably comfortable, very much on the small side though, as per all Hotels in Copenhagen. Reasonably priced with friendly and efficient staff and good wifi access. I'd stay here again.
“does the job”
If you need an affordable place to stay in Copenhagen that is more better than staying in a hostel and cheaper than staying in most other hotels in a good location, then Absalon does the job. Especially if you're the kind of traveler that stays out of the hotel most of the time anyway. The location is pretty central, very easy to get to places from there. Be aware that it is in the 'red light district' but it's still a very decent and safe area. It's mostly self service, if you ask for help or info you'll get it but don't expect anything to come to you on it's own. The hotel itself has a weird layout like a maze and the room is a strange greenish color, nothing fancy at all. i wouldn't be exactly excited to go back but if you're not picky it's not a bad choice.
