“Fine for the Money”
This hotel is quite dated, but location was excellent. Near the train station and a short walk to most everything. We had an extended family traveling with us, so the triple accomodation worked well for us. Hotel was clean, but rooms just a tad shabby. The walls were pretty thin as we could hear everything going on around us. There were several teenagers in the hotel, and we felt almost like we were in a hostel. The elevators did not work one night, and we had to walk up 4 flights to our room. Not a big deal, but was difficult for some of the guests. All in all, you get what you pay for. This hotel was fine for the $$. This is a pretty expensive city, so we didn't mind spending less on a hotel to have more to spend on food/drink.
“Not Impressed”
In the heart of Copenhagen's Red Light District. Recommend staying north towards the Train Station or central Copenhagen. Most hotels serve a free breakfast in Denmark and no mention was made of breakfast cost but I was charged 250 Kroner or 25 Euro for each breakfast which was very simple standard Danish breakfast, bread, cheese, ham, hard boiled eggs, cereal, yogurt. The room was very small even by European standards, a single bed 8 feet by 12 feet room, done in old boarding house chic.
“Excellent!”
Friendly welcome after 15 hours flying from South America with our 4 young children: They upgraded our room booking! It was perfectly located, close to everywhere. Rooms were spacious, clean, very nicely lighted, comfortable beds, linens... Perfect! Thank you!
“Absalon City Hotel - Not Impressed”
Hotel not as advertised.
“Satisfactory”
I'd recommend this hotel to others. The location is great with a 5 minutes walk from the Central Train Station...13 minutes from the airport. Not to mention the public bus transportation which was plentiful if you don't feel like walking. A pack of 10 bus tickets costs 14 DK. We rode the bus to and from the cruise ships terminal. The room was quite spacious for the European standard size. Very clean throughout the interior of the hotel. The only disappointment was I thought when I made the reservation, breakfast was included.
“Great little place!”
I stayed at the Absalon for a week while in Copenhagen for a conference and a few extra days of sightseeing. The room decor was outdated, but it was charming and clean. The bed was comfortable and the room was a decent size for budget accommodations. Service at the desk was above and beyond - the staff was great. They also sell handy items like postcards and stamps, and also have a selection of beer and wine for your room, which I found very nice. My room had a fridge too, which I didn't expect, but I made great use of. The neighbourhood is a bit seedy, but only the few blocks right next to it; it didn't bother me in the least nor did it appear unsafe in any way. Being right by the train station was extra convenient, and the Vesterbro neighbourhood has lots of great little bars and restaurants. All in all, I had a great time and would definitely return to Absalon.
“Good location and service”
Very good located, near to train station (walking distance 3 min.) also naer to interest locations. Hotel needs more maintenance but hotel personnel is very friendly. Very easy to find.
“Good for your money”
This hotel is located in a "colorful" area of town, however, it was so close to the train station and make walking around a breeze for our short stay in Copenhagan. The front desk staff was very helpful and friendly and gave us many great suggestions about where to eat for the night.
“Ladies of the night”
This hotel has seen better days although the reception staff do genuinely try very hard. My room was small and all the furnishings and bedding were pretty ancient. However it was after dark when the area around the hotel changed to become a centre for prostitution.. Walking from a rest\aurant back to the hotel I was approached by women on 7 occassions. I found them aggressive and with their pimps close by quite intimidating. If that's what float your boat then this is the hotel for you, if not I suggest avoid.
“Slitent og illeluktende”
Størrelsen på rommet var meget bra - fikk et relativt stort hjørnerom. Men rommet luktet kloakk!
