“Good for the price”
It's the discount section of the hotel, so no breakfast included - it's sort of like a 2 star hotel since it was a little outdated, but after staying in hostels, it felt really nice.
“Would Stay Again!”
Pros: - Great location. Extremely close to central train station, and a good base camp for exploring all of Copenhagen. - Amazingly good breakfast: cereals, breads, lunch meat (& fish), juice, pastries. Most important meal of the day! - Very reasonable prices, perfect for 20-something friends or couples looking for a cheap place to stay. - Room was spacious and included a cable TV, couch, and a sink. Neutral: - The shared showers and bathrooms were rather small. Didn't bother us at all, but if you prefer extravagantly sized facilities you'll be disappointed. - Located near some strip clubs and porn shops, which may or may not be a problem for you. Although the area seemed a little "shady" at night, the two block walk to/from the train station felt totally safe.
“Very convenient place to stay”
We were looking for a reasonably priced hotel room to stay after flying from the U.S. and boarding a cruiseship next day. Looked for a place where we could take the train from the airport and walk with suitcases. This one was just perfect. We had been frugal and booked a double room with breakfast but shared shower/bath down the hall- believing there was a sink in the room for quick clean up. When we arrived we were told the room had been upgraded to a room with ensuite shower but no breakfast. Decided this was OK since we knew we would be eating bigtime on the ten night cruise! We bought a large sub breakfast sandwich at the train station next morning, took it back to the hotel and made tea in the room, so all worked out well. Since we ended up (jet confused if not lagged!) getting up at all hours during the night we were very happy to have a full bathroom at hand. Staff were very pleasant and we enjoyed our visit.
“Lauren Alpert”
Great location! Breakfast was great ! Can be a little loud outside if you face the street. There are hookers in the area and my bf was approached when he went for a walk alone at night but they didn't bother him when we were together. Overall it was a great place to stay and the street life added some excitement to our stay!
“Absalon Annex Hotel, CPH”
For a low-budget stay in expensive Copenhagen, this hotel came out tops! Note that there are two hotels in the one location here; the Absalon, which has larger rooms with en suite and nice televisions, and the Absalon Annexe which has basic rooms with shared bathroom facilities. We stayed in the Absalon Annexe, and couldn't have been happier - the room was basic but comfortable, well decorated and maintained, bright and airy (I love rooms with operable windows!) and SPOTLESSLY clean, as indeed was the rest of the hotel. The reception staff couldn't have been more helpful if they tried, and the free wifi is a bonus! The neighbourhood is the grungy red light part of town, but boho in a cool kind of way - we had no issues with the pushers and hookers who work across the block, and it is such a convenient and up and coming area. In terms of safety, the surrounding area is just like any other district by a city Central Station in Europe, but the old town is just a stone's throw away; as long as you're street wise there's no need to be nervous. A word of caution; the Danes love to smoke, so if you want a non-smoking room you should ask for it well in advance / at time of booking. For a super cheap stay in a very expensive city I was very satisfied and would reccomend this hotel to other budget travellers looking for a secure, clean base to explore the city. Oh, and they even let you park your bicycle in their private courtyard for free; how Scandinavian is that?!
“Great place”
Simple and no frills (room is functional, sort of like college dorm room), but very clean and well kept. Staff is extremely helpful and polite. Big bonus is that the hotel is only two blocks from train station (which, in turn, is a ten minute train ride from airport).
“Cheap & Cheerful in a Great Location”
Fantastic central location just 10 min walk to Tivoli gardens. Wide range of international clientèle including families, backpackers, tour groups & conference-goers. Pros: Excellent value for money in what must be one of Europe's most expensive cities. Clean room. Helpful English speaking staff. Left luggage lock-up. Security good, though keep your passport & valuables with you just in case. Cons: Small beds, shared bathrooms (though these were always clean), noisy (take earplugs!) and stuffy in summer. Magnetic elevator/room keys easily wiped if stored in same pocket as a mobile/cell phone! In heart of the red light district, however no problems: all activities were low key & did not involve the hotel, and even at night the area felt much safer than most UK cities by day. Ask for a room in the new part of the annex, on the courtyard rather than street side. Plenty of nearby restaurants, and supermarkets/patisseries if on a budget and not eating breakfast in the hotel (around 90Kr extra). Directions: From airport, take train 3 stops to Copenhagen H (30Kr), exit by baggage storage/platform 12, and walk across pedestrian crossing up Istedgade for 2 blocks (5mins). In summary: Popular safe clean budget accommodation in a central location. Fine for a couple of nights. Don't expect to get a lot of sleep; but then you came to explore Copenhagen, not to sleep!
“A Suprisingly Nice Stay -- Would Stay Again”
We arrived at hotel early and they gave us access to a locked room for our luggage. We were upgraded to a room with a bath, very nice. The front desk personnel were very nice and helpful. Hotel had free internet for guests. Breakfast was very nice. We were very close to all activities and tours. We enjoyed our stay at a great price.
“Great value.”
This is close to city centre and Tivoli Gardens, and a great value. The Annex is really not bad, the bathrooms are pretty clean, and the bathroom is great. If luxury, or your own bathroom, are important to you, stay in the hotel, not the annex. But if you're looking for a cheap place to stay (and a really great breakfast!!!) stay in the annex
