“OK stay at a better rate”

There are many places fancier and newer, but this was very Hmmarobbycomfortable at a lower rate.

“Affordable room in Cooperstown area for those on a budget”

Awww, come on, ok, it's not the ritz , but you know that already, just by the rate. Room was a decent size, clean linen, frig and microwave in room, owners had ac running already when i checked in(a real plus on a 100+ day, and if you travel, you know most places don't) they let me check in early -10am- so I could shower and just head to the hall of fame. The hall is a 10mile drive, but straight shot, and VERY picturesque, granted, the place is old, yes, VERY 1950's, but smoking is ok, a hugh plus, for me. Also a diner (decent drive in food,ice cream etc also very 50's) and mini mart/gas station in front another big plus...it's a one horse town, but comfortable clean room at an affordable price.

“Village Motel”

Besides the hair on the blankets, and NO swimming pool as the description states, it was good in a pinch. I travel alot for business and this was the one time I felt the need to write a review. I am with my kids and they were looking forward to swimming. Guess not. The ad is wrong.

“Would go back”

Hotel located in small town in country setting. There is a nice small town diner close by [in walking distance] with good food and resonable prices. A New York Style pizza resturant about a mile away which has very good pizza. Hotel is older, not all electrical outlets in our room were three prong outlets. Hotel only 13 miles from Cooperstown, Ilion and Herkimer and was convienent for our visit to that area.

“Regrets”

This motel is about 12 miles from Cooperstown (our destination) and had little or no amentities except for a/c and cable tv. We found some nice restaurants within a 15 minute drive but there is nothing to brag about in the immediate area. This motel is way overpriced and it would pay to shop around well in advance before your trip to avoid having to settle for this establishment.

“The Village Motel”

They apparently have a very bad cancellation policy, meaning that you cannot cancel your room under any circumstances. My son had biiked a room for two nights and was unable to go because of a medical issue with his dog. They wouldn't take the charges off his credit card even though he gave them plenty of notice. Also, there is a terrible smell in this town which has permeated everything in the hotel. I would not go back there.

Very old and out of the way for the attractions of Cooperstown NY. Many other choices are available and their cancelation policy is unhead of!!
