“A Gem of a leafy motel outside of Cooperstown”

I was very pleasantly surprised by the motel. its photos don't do it justice. it's located on Lake Otsego, in a rural neighborhood, behind and above the houses of local residents but with a good view of the lake. it has a gently sloping lawn and garden, lakeside and both were a lovely feature outside my window. The front of the motel has a shared porch for 2 units each of the 12 or so, which is clean and polished, and in a chevron pattern. My room was very clean, and was freshly redecorated with a good-sized bath, also redecorated. There was helpful shelving so that there was ample room for toiletries. The mattress and pillows were very comfortable. The staff were efficient, responsive and pleasant. The breakfast was boring but did have orange juice, bagels and cream cheese. The only changes i would make are to install better locks for the rooms- there's just the residential-style locking doorknob and I know that 1 night I didn't have it locked at all! And the alcove where the luggage rack and clothing rod is has some bolted-on panels that are painted but a little tacky.

“Will definitely stay here again”

While the Hickory Grove motor inn is a few miles from Cooperstown, its value for the price makes it well worth the short drive needed to get into town. The hotel staff was very friendly, the room was comfortable (beds especially!), clean, and quiet. The serenity of being "up the lake" and the view from the chairs on the lawn made for a very relaxed and comfortable stay. I definitely recommend this motel!!

“Very Impressed”

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Hickory Grove Motor Inn and we were very happy with the room and the staff. We had a beautiful view of Lake Otsego and we are planning on going back next year. Its a beautiful area to visit with great views and the farms are beautiful. We went to the Baseball Hall of Fame which was right down the road from the Motor Inn it was great.I will deffinately reccommend The Hickory Grove Motor Inn to all of my friends.

“Will return to Hickory Grove any time in the area!”

Friendly; decided to stay another night after the first one and would use it again. Just far away from town to be really restful, overlooks the lake and convenient to museums and attractions.
