We were very pleased with our room at the Blake Hotel. The room was small, but very nice, clean, and comfortable. The valet service was especially friendly, although the front desk service was often kind of slow because of having only one person to handle all desk traffic and answer the phone. The room had a king bed, and it was just the right size for 2 people. I don't know if the double rooms were bigger, but I couldn't see having more than 2 people in a room that size. (Great for a romantic weekend, though!) Just about every place we wanted to go was within walking distance, and the streets were super clean and well-lighted. We are likely to stay here again.
I stayed in the new building and enjoyed every aspect of it. Everyone from the valet to the front desk was trained well and made me feel welcome. A female Hispanic employee who was refilling the scrambled eggs at breakfast even smiled and wished me a good morning. I appreciated the service.
The original room we were booked for was very dark and had small windows as it is an old building. The staff were very helpful in locating a brighter room for me which was superb and the stay really made our trip after having stayed at the Marriot as well as an airbnb (which wasn't comfortable...and meant no sleep for me) earlier that week.
This was our first time in NOLA so we were going blindly and cautiously on reviews and suggestions. We picked Homewood Inn because there was not a lot of availability elsewhere. We were absolutely shocked at how nice and accommodating the staff was. The room was huge! Clean. Really pretty views of the city. The location couldn't have been better. It was pretty cold so we opted to take a taxi pretty frequently and it was never more than $7 to get downtown. We walked to the stadium no problems and if it was nicer we could have walked everywhere. The breakfast buffet was awesome and we happened to be there on a weeknight and the dinner buffet was really good too. The housekeeping was great. Super helpful and not annoying. The pool was nice. We will totally stay here again next time we visit. Aside from the bed not being as comfy as ours, I have nothing negative to say at all! Thanks!
Wonderful experience at this hotel - staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. They made me and my dog feel like we were staying at a much more upscale hotel than any LaQuinta we have ever been to. Proximity to French Quarter was convenient for exploring New Orleans by foot, well-priced in & out privilege valet was convenient for venturing further. Highly recommended - we will be back!
