“Great family experience!”

Our family had so much fun in the waterpark, especially going around and around on the slides. We were amazed at all of the kids playing magiquest, which was incorporated into many parts of the hotel. Every staff person was friendly and helpful. It was very relaxing to have our wristbands open our room door and not have to keep up with a key.

Nice indoor water park and family friendly. - All slides allowed for a family of 4 in some manner...so there was much more family togetherness time than expected - Two boys, 8 & 10, enjoyed the water park but were getting bored after 1 1/2 days of it

“Nice , but no jacuzzi or lazy river. Very boring for adults”

This was a very nice place to visit, but it is very boring for adults. No jacuzzi or lazy river. Dunkin donuts inside the hotel was awful , donuts were stale. Also, rooms have to fireplace.

Area recommendations

There is the concord mall close by and alot of activities, restaurants, shopping and more. Excellent location. Walmart was also very close.

“Great Southern Holiday Experience!”

Met extended family members for a few days of holiday fun. The Lodge was a child's dream "come true" -- from the water park to all of the holiday activities during our visit. Convenient to nearby shopping & restaurants (although the food in the lodge was fantastic), as well has having a Dave's & Buster's nearby (large arcade, bowling, etc.) was a hit with the teens. The mall was a hit with the moms.

“Great for families! Our kids had a blast.”

From the moment we entered the lobby, our experience exceeded our expectations. The front desk staff was friendly and efficient, the kids were overwhelmed by the decor and excitement of the hotel. The waterpark was first rate and the rooms were well above what I would consider a standard hotel room. We were very excited about our stay. There were really only two problems. First, we booked on Labor Day weekend and we expected crowds. On Friday, most of the crowds had not arrived and this made the time there much more enjoyable. By Saturday afternoon it was crowded enough to be a little bit of a distraction. Our biggest complaint though, had to do with the temperature of the water. Only the large "plain swimming pool" was really warm enough for our kids to be comfortable in for long periods of time. The small kiddie pool was cold, the wave pool was positively icy and the outdoor pool was pretty chilly as well. Although it was labor day, we expected the mostly indoor park to have warmer temperatures in the water. Our kids loved the bedtime stories and animated sing-a-long and other activities like the magic show. Overall we'd highly recommend the GWL, but I wish whey would warm up the pools a good bit.

Area recommendations

You are right by the Lowe's Motor Speedway. It is worth driving around just to see how big it is. Also you are right across from the Concord Mills Mall which is a destination unto itself. Worth checking out. There is a Chuck E Cheese across the road if you have young kids and TONS of good restaurants within a half mile.

“Great wolf concorde”

While not as big as the Great Wolf we went to in Wisconsin, it still was fun and they managed the crowds well.

“great wolf experience”

The rooms and the Hotel itself is clean and there is always something going on for the kids to do. If I had any complaints it would be that the bathrooms are very small. We have a family of four and the sink is outside the bathroom but the toilet is right beside the tub there is no room to move around .

“It was great”

Check in was very smooth and fast despite the number of people checking in at the same time we did. Our room was ready when we checked in at 1:00 eventhough it was not supposed to be ready until 3:00. KidsKamp room was great (our 7 and 3 year old loved the "tent"). The water park was awesome. My 7 year old loved the big slides while my 3 year old loved the play area for little ones and the outdoor pool. This is a great weekend getaway spot for people in the Charlotte area with children. Oh, my wife says the massage at the Aveda spa was wonderful as well.

Area recommendations

Concord Mills shopping mall is right across I85 as are many restaurants. Charlotte Motor Speedway is about a mile down the road as well.
