“Nice stay”
The room was comfortable. We needed a room near Berkeley. We used the Bart to visit Berkeley and San Francisco. There is parking available at Richmond Bart so the location was convenient. The breakfast buffet was fresh. The staff was very friendly.
“Good option”
Stayed here during a trip to Cal Berkeley graduation. Hotel was nice and clean. Location is convenient and not too far from Berekeley. Good value for the area.
“Courtyard by Marriott Richmond/Berkeley”
The hotel is very nicely maintained, the rooms are nice, and breakfast is good, Getting to San Francisco is easy. You just take the Bay Bridge over to the 101, go past Sausalito and over the Golden Gate. It takes about 40 minutes if there isn't any traffic.
“Clean and comfortable”
The hotel itself is very nice, and very clean. Staff were all very nice, including maintenace staff outside. Great coffee, creamer and to go cups near registration was a plus! Next door is a Chevy's and that's was about it as far as food was concerned. The mall leaves much to be desired, not much to do in this area.
“Good place to stay while visiting Berkeley and area. Easy access from freeway and not too crowded.”
Good locations away from downtown, more relaxed yet easy to travel by freeway. Clean and safe.
“Gem in the Bay Area.”
What a pleasant surprise! Booked the room last minute through Expedia. Best rate in the area. Expecting bare minimum but got GREAT service, a very clean and comfortable room and close proximity to dining and shopping. Late check-out was also a bonus. Will definitely be staying here again when in the area.
“Convenient and pleasant.”
The hotel location was good for us. The room was large enough for 4 people with luggage; the bathroom was clean, and the beds were comfortable. We'll stay there again next time we visit my brother-in-law in El Sobrante.
“Enjoy Richmond, CA, in Style and Comfort”
Richmond is an interesting place to visit, just a few minutes from the Carquinez Straits to the northeast, (take Highway 4) and Berkeley and San Francisco, down I-80 to the southwest. In Richmond itself is a large and attractive nursery called "Annie's Annuals and Perennials"--worth a visit just to see the huge collection of plants and unusual art work. See "Rosie the Riveter, WWII Home Front National Historic Park." ...need to brush up on what may seem like ancient history to most of you? Walk along a path which follows San Pablo Bay south to Point Isabel, or take your dog for a walk in the special doggy area near the point. Shop at the Hilltop Mall, right near the hotel. We read about it in the newspaper, but didn't get to see the Richmond Municipal Natatorium, called "The Plunge" by the locals. This palacial 160 foot by 60 foot swimming pool, originally built in 1926, was just recently reopened after a massive remodel required by age and the Loma Prieta earthquake. According to the newspaper feature, an amazing collection of public and private donors cooperated to raise the needed millions to get the job done. Sure sounds like a worthy Look-See to me! A couple of nights at the Courtyard by Marriott, will give you the time you need--with careful planning and a good city map. They even gave us a list of restaurants--from across the street to San Francisco, but a drive along San Pablo Avenue will show you all the eats you need. Enjoy this little adventure.
“Beautiful hotel, perfect location.”
The hotel is very new, clean, and modern. The room was spacious and the bed was the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in at a hotel. It had a nice flat screen TV with all channels including HBO. Free internet with no catch. The staff was very helpful and kind. Richmond is a wonderful place to stay when visiting the Bay area.
“Great Staff!”
The hotel is a good standard in a fairly convenient location not too far from the freeway. The common areas are clean but uninspiring. The food on offer won't win any awards but the staff were very warm and welcoming which for me made up for any shortcomings. The room was comfortable.
