“Simply lovely”

Friendly hotel staff welcoming with coordial attitude even arriving quite late. Hotel staff haven't hesitate to assist us with full attention. Simply a great hotel to enjoy a weekend.

“"Not Impressed"”

Having driven up from the Vendee we were expecting something a bit special - having read other reports from Expedia travellers - particularly about the food. The first room offered to us was up some steep twisting stairs and was quite small and jaded with a shower over the bath we having asked for a walk in shower.I'm slightly disabled and cannot use a bath. Madame became a little harassed and said the only other room she could offer was in the annexe - a seperate building away from the hotel.This room was fine. Then came the bombshell -,the restaurant was fully booked for dinner ,we had thought that we had booked dinner bed and breakfast ! we could try the hotel restaurant opposite ,The Hotel Du Lac.Which we did. We didnt see the bedrooms but the whole atmosphere and feeling of ambience was quite different to their neighbour. The proprietess was charming as were the waiter and waitress - the food was excellent and our table overlooked the lake. Next morning we were told by another guest at Hotel du Chateau that Madame had told them that the hotel was having difficulty getting staff. Sadly this could be why Madame seemed so harassed and appeared to do everything. Sad I know but impressions count and next time we pass through Combourg we will book at the Hotel du Lac.
