“Historical landmark. In good condition for 90 years old.”

Great hotel if you like older historical landmarks. Smaller rooms and bathroom but that is how they built them 90 years ago. Nice staff. Clean. Great views of the Columbia Gorge. Train tracks below and interstate behind.

“Still a Classic and Great Hotel!”

The Columbia Gorge Hotel continues to be outstanding. Returned to the hotel on one year wedding anniversary, and it just keeps getting better. The quality and friendly service, food, and now a new spa are all outstanding. And, the location and facilities overlooking the Columbia River with a waterfall are still breath taking! The management continues to reinvigorate and make this classic hotel a great hotel to experience. Love it!

“Living history”

A wonderful piece of elegant history. You can almost see the wealthy well dressed clientele of yesterday. I felt under dressed even though I was dressed like others. More costly than many but worth it for a special event or, as in our case, something we always said we would do someday and didn't want to take a chance it might close forever. Tony at the piano in the bar; an incredible view; beautiful grounds and right on the freeway.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The room was very clean and well kept. The view of the gorge was beautiful. What can you say about the Farmers breakfast but wow, wow wow!

“Spectacular!”

The Columbia Gorge Hotel is a must-stay for anyone traveling down the Columbia River Gorge! After reading a review that compared this hotel to the Hotel Hershey, I initially expected something a bit more stuffy. I was also intimidated but a number of reviews that mentioned an old building is disrepair. Fortunate for me, they must have been referring to another hotel, because I was delighted to drive onto its breathtaking grounds, and check in to a hotel that had a very comfortable and casual elegance. The hotel is adorably old and quaint, with a tower that you can request access to for a beautiful private view of the Gorge. I also found my room to be a good size, very clean and handsome, and definitely comfortable. What shocked me most in my room, was the large flat screen TV with FREE internet access... this in a quaint historic building?!? Excellent! The grounds with its gorgeous waterfall, creek, and expert landscaping were a pleasure to walk through. I didn't see a better location or hotel in the Gorge, and my only negative is that I didn't stay longer!

“Nice breakfast, but do not expect too much on view”

This is a riverside hotel, but be noticed that about half of its rooms are facing to the highway and have no river view.

“Very nice but maybe a little overpriced”

The grounds are lovely and the staff was great. Not much into caviar but the champagne was pretty good. They aren't kidding about the size of the breakfast! For a real first class romantic get away - I'd recommend it. For just someplace to stay in the area - you can find something less expensive that would suit.
