“Not impressed”
Parking is a problem. You are pretty much forced to use their valet parking. Bellmen at the door are rude. Could never find a concerierge when I needed one. Front door is unattractive and inconvenient. The room itself was excellent.
“Average experience”
I would give this hotel 3 stars. Room was clean and comfortable but small. The room service breakfast was terrible- cold water for tea and dry and tasteless basket of muffins and rolls. The bathroom did not have an outlet for electrical appliances. Valet did not have the car ready despite having made a call for it. Also, the air conditioning for the entire hotel went off in the middle of the night (both nights we were there) and it could not be controlled with the room thermostat. There was also an error on billing in which I was overcharged. On the plus side- very good location.
“Nothing special, lukewarm staff”
Staff was not helpful, passive at best. Uncomfortable, strange lobby and room layout. Cleaning services left us a note exactly at the time we were leaving the room (1:30 p.m.) letting us know that we had to contact the front desk if we wanted the room cleaned. The other large hotel down the block looked like a much better choice.
“Marriott anyone?”
Ice machines on all floors not working the four days I was there. Took 30 min. for room service to bring ice. Dirt moped or swept into the corners. Didn't like the feeling when walking barefoot in the room. Rug was ripped. No microwave or refrige. Tile floor inside shower with no bath mat. Very slippery. Had to use towel on tile floor upon getting out of shower. No shelve or anything near the basin to place your toothbrush, comb or brush. They did furnish a blow dryer with an outlet by the sink. The prongs were so bent they wouldn't fit in the outlet. No bathroom vent and windows painted shut. They have 24 hour shopping.....a glass door not as wide as a closet door and one layer thick of things....but you can shop 24 hours a day!! The people that work there are super nice, friendly and helpful. There is a Marriott down the street, I'll try that next month.
“This hotel does fried potatoes well and that's about it.”
The bed was tripled sheeted with worn out sheets and a polyfil comforter. The room was so small, I thought I was in Europe. The windows had blinds and shades. However, they were not quality and the street lights came in anyway. The bathroom door, which had frosted glass was 3 feet from the bed. The bathroom though small was nice and the (3) towels were nice. There was no turn down service so you better make them last. The "nice" restaurant was open by appointment only due to lack of business.......I think you get my drift...Oh I should mention the Starbucks in the lobby is open in the morning...don't expect to have a cup of tea after a long day. This could be a great hotel. I was very disappointed.
