“Not impressed”
The employees were friendly. The room was not very clean, however. The bed was not very comfortable and had an egg-crate topper. It was chilly, so I had to turn the heat on and I know it smells a little when you first use a heater, but this one smelled very nasty...for a while. My biggest complaint is the overhead fire sprinkler sprayed when my neighbors took a shower, so I had a soaked bathroom to get dressed in the following morning. Not cool. The hotel is hard to find, too. I put the given address into my GPS and it didn't get me there. The hotel is hidden behind another hotel down a dark path and it's difficult to find and get to at first. The walls are also really thin and I heard everthing (speech, closed doors, showers, etc.) that was remotely close to my room.
“Service???????????”
After a long day I got to the Hotel (Flop house) a little after 1 A.M. not at all impressed by nasty front desk/cubby hole. Got my key and went to my room/cell, turned on the lights and watched 3 roaches run acrossthe kitchen area. the room appeared to be clean, however did not have that freash clean feeling. This was a quick trip so I packed very light planing on using usual supplied items I.E. shampoo, no luck. 1 bar of soap... To late to go elsewear I just went to bed. Next morning (no "free" Breakfast)took all my things (to roach proof) and put in another long day, returned around 8P.M. to find that there was no type of maid service room just as i left it. this place may be fine as a Hostal , but never as a business stop, and no way as a family place to stay. There much better and closer to the Airport.
“not impressed”
Drug deals in parking lot, prostitutes all around, and your staff was very rude. I have been to the middle east and by far this was worse.
“Not going back.”
I have stayed at Extended Stay America before in Chicago and it was ok but this Columbia West was just filthy. The kitchen was nasty. Grease on every edge of the stove and fridge. I don't think the burner plates had ever been cleaned. The coffee maker still had the last guests filter and grounds in it and the pot had not been washed. The microwave did not have the glass plate inside and looked like it started to burn at some point. There were cobwebs in every corner, the carpet was badly stained and thrift stores have better quality used furniture. Suprisingly the bathroom was not to bad except for the mold/mildew growing on the shower curtain. From the outside it looks like a nice clean facility but inside not at all. I would not recommed this location and will not be returning.
“Horrible! I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, not even the homeless.”
Seemed ok from the outside, but once we got into room we were disgusted. Room smelled of smoke, when we requested non smoking due to having asthma. Large stains on chair and footstool. Carpet not vacuumed and toilet had pubic hair on the seat. On our way to the office to let them know we weren't staying, we saw two men drinking and BBQ outside their room, a couple yelling and screaming at eachother and another very glossy eyed young landy asking us for a lighter. We told the clerk of all our concerns and her reply was " Oh, ok.I'll cancel your room for you.......UGH!
“Not Impressed”
The kitchen area of the room had dirty dishes, the coffee maker had not been cleaned in some time. The exterior of the property needed some repairs, especially to the stairway railings.
“Don't stay here”
This hotel is located right off of the interstate which would have been great if they had sound proofed the rooms. You could hear everything from the traffic, trains, constant police/emergency sirens and people walking by the room. The maintenance of the room was terrible and all furnishings need updated. The phone didn't work, there were numerous problems in the bathroom-toilet paper holder wouldn't stay on, broken bar in the shower, cracked faucet and the in room kitchen wasn't anything to get excited over. The cabinet doors looked like they were going to fall off, they only give you 2 of each of plates, cups, silverware etc-so you constantly have to wash dishes and only a frying pan and spatula-no spaghetti dinner here! The other problem I had was that they had no cribs for babies-this is an Extended Stay-a place where people stay long term and I thought it was strange that they didn't have this essential item. I think the only pros to the hotel is that it is very close to the Zoo and it is cheap.
“Great Place”
was very pleased
“Not Impressed and never stay at your hotel ever again.”
Extended Stay America was the worst hotel I have stayed in. Yes, it might be cheap, but if you looking for quality. This is not the hotel to stay at. I advise anyone to checkout other hotels to stay at. If it was only one night, choose another hotel.
“Very Impressed”
This Hotel has ALL the Comforts & Conveniences of Home. We were VERY impressed with the Accomodations, Cleanliness & Convenience. The ONLY thing missing was extra pillows...And I have NEVER been to a Hotel that offered extra pillows...LOL. Next time, I will just bring one from home. I HIGHLY recomend this Hotel to anyone needing to spend sopme time in Columbia, SC.
