“No Ambiance”
On the surface, this hotel was impressive. However, service was mediocre. Staff was polite, but not over eager to be helpful. I questioned them about my reservations, twice, and twice I was given the wrong answer, and then told to call expedia. Which meant I did not get the services I paid for and had to wait till I got home to settle it. Although, the hotel was neat and clean, the staff never went out of their way to help. If you want just want a clean room, its okay, but if you want a room and good service, go to another hotel.
“not all advertised amenities available”
While the room is comfortable and within easy walking distance of the University of South Carolina, a couple of the advertised amenities were not available. For one, there is a 10.00 per day fee for parking in the garage. The person at the desk stated that there hadn't been free parking here in nearly a year. Secondly, there is not room service available. Both were reasons I selected this hotel. This was disappointing.
“Hotel in Columbia”
good hotel. i tend to stay there when i go to columbia
“Best location for touring the USC campus”
We found the hotel to be in an ideal location for visiting the USC campus. The hotel staff was very accomodating with directions and recommendations as well as offers for shuttle service.
“Holiday Inn at USC”
Went to Columbia for USC vs. ARkansas football game. Very close to the stadium, and a nice place to stay. In-between 5-Points and the Vista (bar and resturant areas) It's a standard in Columbia. Plus the Gamecocks won!
“great hotel”
enjoyed the stay. great rooms
“Most cramped parking EVER!!”
The location was great. The room was fine (though the check in person asked if I wanted a "room with a view" or a "quiet room" and I picked quiet room..she gave me a room on the 4th floor with a view of the enormous air conditioning units which were constantly making noise! Anyway...the thing that REALLY sent me over the edge was the breakfast. I noticed that it wasn't included in the price of the room, but decided to give it a try anyway. It was a $9.95 "breakfast buffet". The food was EXACTLY like the food that I have eaten for free at every other hotel I've ever been to. You had to make your own waffles, the biscuits were cold & hard, the eggs, oh my god I don't think I've ever had anything that gross in my life, the bacon was cold and limp. My daughter and I ended up eating cold cereal and our meal cost $20!!! The next day we went to Bojangles and got a yummy breakfast for less than $5!
“Great Location”
I was not impressed by this hotel, it is your standard clean and nice courtyard. The location of this hotel is the best part, walking distance right onto campus, 4 **** for sure!!! :)
“Stay was pleasant”
Room was very comfortable, loved the bed! Staff very friendly and courteous.
“Good hotel and Great location”
The hotel was clean and the staff were nice. The parking slots were small and difficult to park in. Overall a very nice hotel.
