“Nice Older Hotel”
enjoyed the stay
“Room too Hot”
The hotel was great except my room was too hot. They could use a second airconditioning unit in the suites. The non suite room was fine. Overall a good experience and very convenient to campus.
“the hotel was fine for the purpose that i attend there,”
the hotel was fine for the purpose that I attended, over impressed "no" satisfy "yes"
“Super good deal on Expedia”
In Columbia for my son's BMT graduation from Ft Jackson. Hotel location midway between CAE airport & Ft Jackson. About 6 blocks from downtown proper. For a short stay, it fit our needs--safe, clean, good AC, strong enough shower, pool, fitness eqiupment, & most important uber comfy beds!!! Room was larger than I expected.
“Fake eggs and slow maids”
The hotel offers a breakfast buffet mon-sat. The scrambled eggs had no flavor and seemed to be made from a container. The bacon and sausage were cold each day. The restaurant staff were very nice. The maid would come on my floor at 8am each morning. It would take her and other maids until noon to get to my room. They would say that my room was next in a few minutes. But then it was 2-3pm before they cleaned it.
“Nice Veiw - Nice Price”
Other than having a problem with my room key not working and needing a maintenance man to get me in the door, this hotel offered a great view of the river and was a great overall value. Convenient to downtown without the downtown prices.
“Weekend in Columbia”
Great location in the heart of downtown Columbia on Gervais St near the Vista. We were in the Motor Inn portion of the hotel with outside entrances. The room was spacious and comfortable but very dated. For the low, low price we paid, the only real complaint we had was the lack of water pressure in the shower which was little more than a trickle and made rinsing very difficult. The high rise hotel portion looks newer; I would definitely insist on a room there, although they may be priced higher. Overall the room was adequate for our needs during a short stay, but the water pressure was disappointing.
“Needs an update, but OK.”
We stayed in a suite with an entrance to the outside. It was spacious and clean, but needed updating, with older carpet and wallcovering and countertops. It was nice to have the kitchenette and couch. There was no elevator to the second floor, and so suitcases had to be carried up the outdoor stairs. Bed was comfortable and we had a good stay, overall.
“reasonable”
I think this hotel is reasonable price
“Expected more”
Very onvenient for USC but a bit dated for the price. Tub and vanity were very scratched. View was horrible. Strong perfume smell gave me allergies.
