Check in and check out and reception services generally were friendly and professional. Waiting staff at table and in the bar/restaurant were prompt, attentive and polite.
Hotel is in a great location to tour the Forum and the centre of Rome, and the hotel is on a quiet side street and so quite peaceful.
This was a great hotel at a great price. The rooftop bar area is amazing--you can see the Colosseum. It is a good location because it is very close to the train station (10 minute walk), a 20 minute walk to the Colosseum, and about 17 euro cab ride to the Vatican. Very nice staff. Nice room, but the beds are very hard. Would definite recommend to anyone on a budget in Rome.
Hotel Ivanhoe was nice and in a good location but although the room was lovely and clean the room itself was tiny and didn't have a fridge. The hotel didn't seem to have much sound proofing either as I didn't really get much sleep due to the amount of noise from other guests in the corridors. Word of warning the church across the way rings its bells at 7am as well. The shower was also only just big enough to turn around in and you could only use the loo sitting sideways as it was too close to the wall, To give some size perspective I'm a size 8, 5'3'' woman. Breakfast was lovely, the roof terrace was also lovely, staff were fab and the room was clean but just a little claustrophobic due to size. Overall a nice hotel but for the price I would go for something with bigger rooms and a fridge next time.

We were only at the hotel for 2 nights, but it was a great location-about a 5 minute stroll to the coliseum, and the street the hotel is on was nice and quiet. The breakfast buffet was just okay, but the staff was very friendly and the room was clean and comfortable. The front desk arranged for our transportation to the airport on our departure date. Really, all you could ask for in a city, non-resort hotel.
The heart of Ancient Rome, all roads led to the Forum. Visitors flock here to walk the streets where Julius Caesar once trod when this was the centre of commercial, political and judicial life. Nearby, the Colosseum, described by Lord Byron as 'the gladiators' bloody circus', is the world's most famous amphitheatre and the most impressive of all Rome's buildings and ruins.
