“Can't make up my mind!”

When we turned the final corner, we were both hoping that our TomTom G.P.S had got it wrong! It's certainly not as pleasing to the eye as Expedia's photo gallery shows. First impressions.....this hotel look very tired. No flowers just weeds. It stands between a builders yard and a closed down Asian restaurant - by a busy road (traffic noise was NOT a problem). The inside (rooms & public areas) look like Uncle Knit Knots had chosen the colour scheme (those with kids will understand!) boring brown & beige everywhere, combined with dark green curtains and the dark wood furniture, It gave a very gloomy feel to the room. HAVING SAID ALL THIS NEGATIVE STUFF - the hotel/room was very clean and comfortable. The staff were all helpful and friendly. It's location, close to the main route in (and out) of Colorado Springs, was bonus for exploring. The shops and restaurants of Old Colorado town are just 3 blocks walk away- crossing the very busy main road. Downtown was only 7 mins in the car/bus. Garden of the Gods is also very close. The our room was a good size - with a tv. microwave, coffee maker and fridge. Well maintained and very clean - just a very gloomy feel due to the dark colours. Breakfast was ok. Not the best variety that we have encountered - but certainly not the worst! This was the 5th hotel in our tour of Colorado. We had a nice time in this area. Please buy a can of brighter paint and give the place a lift!
