“Nice-Quaint Hotel”

The hotel itself was small, but quaint. Very clean. My biggest complaint was the the bathroom did not have a blow dryer. Traveling abroad, I did not bring my blow dryer knowing the difference in electrical plugs. I think a hotel should expect that not everyone will have the capability to plug in a blower dryer and that should be provided. Needless to say, I was not happy about that. The bartender didn't seem to keen on foreigners, but the rest of the staff was very friendly, and even cooked us some extra eggs when the requested since the buffet ran short.

“Exceedingly average”

I went on business, so one thing that stood out was the instability of the wi-fi network. It wasn't uncommon for it to go out every few minutes and one morning it was offline for hours. There is no LAN internet, wi-fi only. The front desk was helpful, but the English ability was low. The breakfast selection was just bread, cheese and cold cuts.

“Terrible”

Confusing layout of the rooms. Hard to find the room. The light in the hallway did not work all the time so it was hard to get in the room in the dark. The bathroom was about the size of an airplane bathroom and part of the ceiling was coming down and exposed.

“Don't do it...”

Stayed here one night in December of 2006. Cologne is a wonderful town, but you'll be close to nothing if you stay here. Hotel is located in a residential area quite a distance from all the things you want to be close to. Hotel is very basic, which I expected, but the location is horrible. Good luck trying to sleep, as the rail tracks are just a rock throw away. I was in Europe for 11 days and this was the only disappointment.

“not impressed”

Our carpet had 2 big brown stains on it and felt very sticky. It could have done with a through clean, and room was not cleaned throughout our stay. Having said all of this the staff were really nice

“Not Impressed”

I wasn't impressed with the hotel - it was very different from Hotel's in the US. There was an odd/horrible smell coming from our bathroom. The hotel is located in a neighborhood away from any shopping. It was a very quiet neighborhood so that was a plus.
