“Close and Comfortable”

This was an ideal hotel in the very centre of the city. The rooms were excellent - big beds; lovely linen. Really good value for money for a weekend away.

“Not Impressed”

Yes, the hotel is close to the train station and the cathederal but it lacks in other services. There is no free wifi / internet, which is astounding considering a four week trip in Europe and this was the only accommodation that did not offer this as a free service. Extremely disappointed that we were charged for 'real' milk for our coffee, no robes provided and the cost for other services ie drinks and movies was exhorbitant. I would not choose to stay in a Marriott hotel again.

“Great Location”

We spent a week at the hotel. We were happy we hadn't chosen other hotels closer to the cathedral because it would have been noisier. This location was in walking distance of everything. Our only complaint was the room upstairs had very young kids running around all night, and we could hear their footsteps. The consierge was extremely helpful and pleasant. On the downside, this hotel is more conducive to businesses. The breakfast package plus internet is expensive for traveling families.

Area recommendations

This area for location...just on the outskirts of the crowdw streets and noise factor.

Getting there

You can walk to almost everything. Great to just walk along the Rhine River. Biking is tougher unless your really good because you have to ride through crowds of people. Great to see cruise ships stopping by.

“Very Impressed”

This is the second time I have booked at stayed at this hotel, we were treated as if it was the first visit, the staff are very friendly and willing to help with the smallest of queries. A very pleasant atmosphere to have after a busy day shopping!

“near the station”

near to the station, Dom and shops (xmas markets as well) felt like a marriott Strange mini bar arrangement that i didn’t get to grips with but room service was prompt and bar and restaurant were well manned

“American Amenities and Comfort in Cologne”

This hotel is just like an American Marriott hotel in any major business city... which is unusual to find in the EU (large rooms, large & comfortable bed, modern bathrooms, functional AC, etc). The location is good - just a block out the back door of the train stn - but not excellent, though, as there are many other hotels directly in the center of town, over beyond the front side of the train stn.

“Daily Room Cleaning a little remiss but”

We were surprised that, in a 5* hotel (even if we were on 3 nights for 2) we had to call reception each day to ask for the dirty mugs they'd taken away to be replaced; likewise replenishment of the milk/whitener supplies! I've stayed with Marriott before elsewhere and never met this problem!
