“Very unimpressed”

The poor level of service we had on check in continued throughout our entire stay at the hotel, including the reception staff who we found to be very unhelpful. When we informed the hotel of our check-out time, they did not take the initiative to send up a bell-boy to collect our luggage. We ended up checking out a day earlier from the hotel. The hotel itself is quite nice and well positioned right near the Cologne Dom and the central train station. Our room was very clean but incredibly small for two people which is not what you would expect in a five star hotel. The hotel had a nice gym and spa to use which was on the basement of the hotel. However, there was a construction site directly out the front of the hotel, i don't think it was in operation when we were staying at the hotel but it may be worthwhile to check with the hotel before booking.

“how tiny a room can be?”

Never in my life I stayed in such A tiny room, without even one shelf, no drawers, and 20 inch wide wardrobe with few hangers. I was told that all the rooms in the hotel are of the same size except for 6 larger rooms
