“Excellent location”
This hotel is ideally situated in the centre of Cologne. Very close to the main train station. The staff are all very friendly and always available to help. We thought that the restaurant meals seemed a little over priced though.
“Great location”
Good central location...just minutes from the cathedral and other important sites. Staff always efficient and helpful.
“Never dissapoints”
I have now stayed at this hotel 3 times over 3 years and the the hotel never disspoints. It is modern, spacious, clean and the staff are always extremely helpful. Another important point is that, even on the busy morning of a trade fair, there are no major queues to check out, meaning that you can gain that you can gain that all important extra 15 minutes in bed! If you are staying in Cologne for business or pleasure, I have no problem in heartily recomending the Hilton.
“Stayed before and would stay again”
Comfortable and peaceful hotel yet very convenient for central train station, cathedral and old town. This was my third stay at the Cologne Hilton and the experience is very consistent - good quality rooms, quiet location. Had some very minor shortcomings with housekeeping on this occasion, but really nothing to write home about. Overall, I enjoy staying at this hotel - it has easy access for both car (I drove) and train (wife joined me via Dusseldorf airport and train to Cologne), is central yet quiet and is very comfortable. Haven't eaten at the hotel - prefer to find breakfast and other meals in the many eateries in the vicinity. Would recommend the Cologne Hilton without any hesitation.
“Quality hotel in good location”
Nice, modern hotel in a very central, yet quiet, location. Hotel is just a minute or so's walk from the Dom Cathedral and the old town beyond. The hotel is also very convenient for Cologne's central train station (day trip to Dusseldorf anyone ?), being just a minute's walk away. Although it is close to these busy areas, the hotel itself is in a relatively minor road and so there is little noise disturbance from traffic etc. Stayed at the hotel last year and chose it again for the convenience of location, comfort and quietness. That plus the fact that I knew it was easily accessible by car (we drove there). Hilton Cologne is a great hotel for a short city break - we were there for the Christmas markets and the hotel was well situated for these. We didn't eat at the hotel, but that is mainly because there are a great many eating options in the area. That said, breakfast looked to be slightly expensive (esp. given current sterling/euro exchange rate). Didn't use the fitness facilities (though they looked to be pretty good) - too tired from shopping and climbing the Dom (see below) !
“Fantastic hotel”
Very good hotel with modern comfortable rooms, and staff were extremely friendly and accomodating. Only 5 minutes walk to the Dom so location was perfect. Slightly more expensive than other hotels but well worth it in my opinion
“Germany's treat”
Excellent hotel,well positioned to all tourist sights.Very near train station for trips to Bonn half an hour away on the train.Worth a visit:Dussledorf also Half an hour away on the train again worth a visit.
“Christmas Markets - Fantastic”
Hotel is well situated within minutes of train station and Dom. All christmas markets were other side of the Dom but not far to walk. Hotel was great - no problems at all. Cologne was great as Christmas and highly recommend
“Excellent Cologne Hotel”
6 of us stayed for business trip and found the hotel and staff really excellent. It is very central, close to station and the cathedral. Enjoyed the Christmas market.
“looking forward to staying again in 2010”
our only complaint was that on the day we were to check out the woman who was to clean our room knocked us up at 8.40am to tell us she was outside. we had checked with reception for the check out time which was 12 o'clock so we felt we could enjoy a lie in on our last day in cologne especially after such a late night before. That was our only complaint and if their booking system went further forward we would have booked already for next year!!!
