“Ideal location”

We stayed in December at the time of the Christmas Market though this was not our prime reaon for visiting. The Cathedral and Shopping centre are only a short walk away through the Railway Station shopping area. The room was good value and included breakfast which was full of choices. Staff were friendly and helpful. Their car park at Euro 19 per 24 hrs was full but another was close by at Euro 15 per 24 hrs.

“Would definately go back”

We stopped here for 4 days and were very happy and comfortable, the staff were very helpful and made the stay brilliant - I would come back and would be happy to recommend this hotel as a brilliant and definately value for money venue - the buffet breakfast was superb.

“Ideal for visiting Koln”

Used this hotel for visiting the Christmas Markets Nov 2011. Very conveniently situated, only 5 mins walk from Koln Cathedral and right next to the train station Situated on a side street it is a quiet, comfortable hotel. Breakfast included. Bar a bit small but you are surrounded by drinking places elsewhere. Will visit markets again and will definately try to get this hotel.

“Grand City Hotel, will definitely go back!”

The Grand City Hotel in Cologne is in a fantastic location. 2 minutes from the station, 5 minutes from the cathedral. Very good central position. Our room was very good, plenty of space for what we needed. and clean. Close to the river, shopping and easy acces to anywhere in the city via the station. The breakfasts are amazing, buffet style, full english or continental, cereals, fruit, yoghurt, pastries, the full works. Set us up for the day out. My wife and I went for a 3 night city break, we couldn't believe how lucky we were to get a good hotel so close to the centre and all the amenities. There weren't really any downsides to the hotel. The staff were very friendly and amenable. It has its own bar which was well stocked. We will definitely return here. First Class!!!

“Ideal Location”

Very nice Hotel with very welcoming staff. The front desk took time in explaining the area to us which was a god send when we started exploring. The breakfast Buffet was great with plenty on offer. The FREE mini bar, water and fruit juice, in your room is a nice gesture also. Cologne Cathedral was amazing and what ever you do pay the €3.00 and climb to the top, by 533 steps, the views are fantastic. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from all serving good quality food. Also, if you have time, take a train to Bonn, 15 minute, and explore another beautiful city. All in all, a great City and you should have a great time. The only down side was the Smoking in the Bars and some places in the Hotel.

“Near train station”

The location of the hotel is convenient for travel by train. The accommodations are very average. There is no air conditioning. Our room was extremely hot. We found it difficult to sleep. The room was clean. The breakfast was very good. This would be a good 3 star hotel, not 4 star.

“Great Hotel”

At first the room that the receptionist gave us was BAD - as there was construction going on just outside the window. But we requested a different room and had to wait an hour before it was changed for us. The best thing was that we were allowed to stay until evening at no extra cost as our train was in the evening. Service was excellent, the staff wonderful.

“Ideal for a night, especially if arriving by train”

The hotel was across the road from the main train station and close to the centre of town. This made it ideal for a quick stay over with a morning's sight seeing. Friendly staff and pleasant decor. Only fault was the noisy air conditioning unit outside, which meant we kept windows shut.
