“Beautiful German Hotel”

Beautiful classic Hotel right next to the Cathedral and train station…a must visit. Hotel staff were top notch and very efficient. The bar was a great place to unwind after a long train ride. Other than problems with the shower head in the bathroom the room was splendid. I would recommend this hotel to my family and friends and will be my first choice upon my return to Cologne.

“Excellent hotel”

The Excelsior Hotel Ernst was a very efficient, welcoming, service-oriented hotel that was very helpful and gracious. The staff were able to answer all of our questions and provided services with a wonderful attitude. If we ever get to go back to Cologne we will certainly try to return. The ONLY drawback was that when we went it was quite warm and there was no air conditioning and because of construction on the outside of the hotel our windows could not be opened.

“One of my favorite hotels”

The newer suites in the rear section are wonderful. You never see housekeeping--it just happens. Easy to walk to sites and shopping.

Ideally located next to the train station and the Dom, the hotel exudes an old World charm and luxury rarely found at these prices. The fitness centre is a bit hidden away but well worth seeking out. Lots of nice touches including a complementary mini bar. Truly for the discerning traveller. If you're in Cologne, don't miss this one.

“Outstanding Accommodation”

This hotel is pure luxury at exceptional prices. Great location next to the train station, Dom, main Xmas Markets with others within walking distance and the river. However it was the little touches that made this hotel stand out - the complementary mini bar, small soft toy and range of toilettries for our toddler. Even the staff were lovely. While we wouldn't go back to Cologne - I would just for the hotel!!

“very nice hotel”

from the moment we arrived at the hotel it felt like another world.it was luxery at its best.we were shown to our room which was very large even though they had put another bad in for our daughter.the bathroom was the best ,the bath was big enough for two.we didnt eat there, but there are a lot of places nearby.the mini bar was free .we went into the piano bar which was very nice. we will be going again ,but won't be taking our daughter. we dont think its a hotel for children.she felt like she had to be very quiet all the time.

“A jewel near the Cologne Cathedral”

I lived in Cologne for nearly 3 years over 30 years ago but never had the opportunity to visit the Excelsior Hotel until a recent business trip brought me back to Koln/Cologne. This hotel is absolutely first class and the hotel staff were outstanding in every way. The room was very modern, luxurious and super clean.

“Great location, nice people”

Perfect location in the center of the city, you can walk to everything. The train station is 2 blocks away. The room was very large and comfortable. The only problem was the shower, a bit scary to get in and out of. But overall you won't go wrong.

“A superb spot for a trip to Cologne”

A very good hotel for a reasonable price. The position is excellent and the hotel itself is very stylish and justifies its 5 star rating. The staff were unfailingly helpful - the only downside was a lack of staff on the reception desk at times resulting in some fairly long queues. However this was a small moan - and didn't detract from an excellent experience.

“Perfect hotel for a festive break in Cologne.”

The hotel was excellent, very helpful, polite and friendly staff and the room very quiet and comfortable. The mini bar was free and restocked every day. The location was great, right opposite the cathedral and almost next to the station. On the third day we were left a bag of Christmas goodies which was a nice touch. I would go back again definitely.
