Small very hot room in unseasonal October weather. However, well situated hotel within easy walking distance of all attractions.
Fantastic honey which is produced on the roof of the hotel! If you can't sleep,a cup of warm milk with honey will be delivered to your room free of charge-amazing service.
We stayed in Cologne for two days, and we needed somewhere to sleep and park our car while we roamed the city on foot or public transport.
The Ameron was an excellent choice. Easy to find by car, and right next to the tram station, with just 5 stops away from the city center.
The hotel serves a very nice German breakfast, and the staff at the reception were very helpful with some tourist tips and information.
This is now definitely my go-to hotel for my next visit to Cologne.
The location of this hotel is excellent, just a short walk from the Heumarkt tram stop which gives easy access to both the Koelnmesse and the Neumarkt. In the heart of the old town this hotel is close to the Dom and a huge variety of shops and restaurants. The interior of the hotel was modern and luxurious. The rooms were extremely comfortable and room service came promptly and was of excellent quality. Only complaint was the price of the breakfast 29EUR when you just want a light breakfast is extremely expensive so we ended up buying breakfast stuff from the supermarket around the corner. We have stayed at many hotels in Cologne over the years but will certainly be making a return trip to this one.

A good hotel but not easy to get into central Cologne unless you have a car. It was walk then both tram and train to get into Cologne. The car parking was free if you arrived early but cost eight Euros to put it into an open car park with a barrier if the free spaces were taken. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, and breakfast was typical continental but good quality.
We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights following a Rhine river cruise & booked a superior room. The room was spacious, very clean & very comfortable with all the facilities you would expect in a 4 star hotel, including wi-fi in the room. The shower room was also spacious & pristine. I think it is maybe a sixties hotel that has been refurbished in the last year or two as it is very modern inside. The hotel cleaning is super efficient. The staff were a bit of a mixture - most were pleasant and polite, some just polite but all were helpful if you had any queries.
