“Good location”

In right location for Christmas markets as underground, tram and buses on doorstep and right across from Rudolplatz. Good restaurants within few minutes walk. Due to good locations there is quite a bit of traffic noise, so ask for a high room. Reception staff try and help but you may need some german to get by. Overall good. Didn't try the food as not paying 20 euro each for breakfast when good bakers and starbucks near by. Car park quite expensive but probably normal for city.

Area recommendations

Rudolplatz good location to get all over city. Or stay near Dom

“Great location for shopping and christmas markets”

Having read the reviews about this hotel we were concerned about parking, however were surprised and delighted to find a large car park under the hotel, Ok it's not owned by the hotel and was chargeable but it was extremely convenient. The christmas market was on our doorstep as were the main shopping streets, the whole centre walkable and pleasant. Staff were very pleasant and breakfast good, although we were somewhat disconcerted that we had to share a table for 8 for breakfast with others, not expected in a four star hotel, which was not comfortable.

“Could do MUCH better”

location of this hotel is great for an easy walk into the centre for shops and the cathedral etc. However, we encountered a problem with the drains in our bathroom that was due to poor maintenance and resulted in a flood. The hotel did manage to find us another room on the same floor, only for us to encounter the same issue. Finally we were placed in a third room but told we could not be compensated for the inconvenience because we didn't book direct. However, after discussing with the manager we were offered a free breakfast which was some comfort. Staff at the hotel told us that these issues with the room/drains were very common.

Altstadt allows easy walking to all points of interest in the City.

“Cologne Hotel”

This hotel was very convenient to public transportation while it also provided a convenient, and pleasant walk to the DOM area. We did not get the breakfast included deal but there were pleanty of bakeries, cafes around the ares so food was no problem. The room was spacious and had all the amenities. We could see the DOM from our hotel window too. For the smokers, there's a lounge where you can go sit and smoke so you don't have to go stand outside.

“Wouldn't stay there by choice again.”

I travel to Cologne on business frequently and this is not the first time I've stayed at this hotel. Each time it seems to be a bit shabbier and this time is the last time I shall stay there. . The first room I was given had not been made up since the previous occupant. The duvets do not fit the beds, there was no kettle, even though one was promised, and there was no minibar. The whole room was tatty and did not give a feel of cleanliness.

“Cologne trip”

Nice hotel. comfortable rooms if a little dated. Had free internet access. Buffet breakfast. Plenty of good bars & resteraunts nearby.

Area recommendations

Stick to city areas. some of the outer areas of Cologne can be dark and run down.

“A solid stay”

I found a great Peruvian Restaurant in Peru that I wanted to go eat at and I live an hour away in the Netherlands so I decidd to stay at this hotel which was only 5 minutes from the restaurant. The hotel was clean and the location was great. Alot of good shopping in the local area. My only complaint is the pillows were way to soft and the bed sheet was to small. I woke up with a back ache because the pillow was so soft. I also requested a crib and the crib was not in the room when I arrived.
