It's the little things.
We booked this hotel for a two night stay in Cologne. The advertising was right:very close to the chocolate museum. The kitchenette was great, but the overall impression of the place was poor. The shower was clogged, so I had to pull smelly, slimy hair out of it to gethe it to drain. The drapes in the living room were hanging off the track with only a few connections to the hooks. The sheets were coarse and the towels small and thin. At checkout, we were 9 minutes over time and some guy just walked in and told us we had to leave. Wow. If only he gave that much attention to the shower drain. We won't come back to this one.

Not a bad place if someone is on a short holiday, but very basic and without any services if one stays for business as I was. Very expensive for what the apartment was due to the Cologne Fare.

Compact apartment in serviced accommodation
We stayed in the Black/White apartment on the ground floor which is very compact. It was suitable for a couple but the 2 small towels (each) provided for the whole week was not enough to cope with. We bought our own towels. The service team (not on site) were very efficient to fix interrupted wifi service and were easy to contact. Great location near the Rhine and close to Heumarkt.

The apartment was not on good condition. Window shades wore torn and fell down. Bathroom radiator leaked. The bed was very uncomfortable. Could have stayed at a 4 star hotel for same price. Cleaning crew came into 2 hrs before checkout.

A-partment
The bed linen was too small for the bed and was very worn. The wifi did not work and the contact person did not respond to any emails. Someone entered the apartment whilst we were out and did not let us know. The apartment was not as the photos described it to be. Overall it was a good location but I would not recommend anyone to stay here. Very disappointing.

What a disappointing Encounter!
With the above average apartment rate charged per night, we expect a decent basic housekeeping and fresh bath towels on alternate days. Toilet entrance door too narrow, not even a proper Queen size BED at all! It is a SOFA Bed that you have to make your own bed every night. Kettle is not clean, white residue when collecting water from the apartment taps. They told us to close tight all apartment windows due to safety reason and YET provide you with only 1 garbage bag and expect us to store rubbish for the entire 7 nights and caused room to have a foul smell. The overall hygiene of apartment was unsatisfactory. No sign of apartment personnel in-charge. They gave you an Access Key code to pick up apartment keys from their designated Key box. I tried calling them for certain enquiries and assistance while there in their apartment, unfortunately, no one seemed willing to answer phone except answering machine that doesn’t speak English. Late 3pm check-in and early off you out from apartment by 11am. I being an Exhibitor attending the Cologne Fair for 8 days/7 nights, was disappointed with the apartment hygiene conditions and no attendant service.Description of apartment very different from what Expedia stated. Expedia did not mention a-partment provide Sofa Bed. Totally VAST mis-match from nice photos shown on Expedia website of a-partment in Cologne! We would like Expedia customer relation personnel to contact us to settle this undesirable stay in a-partment. Thank you.

Great location - but hugely overpriced
More fool me to book a room so late for Gamescom when 300,000 people are due to descent on Cologne. Of course all prices are ramped up over these few days, but this was ridiculous. This apartment is in a good location but it is very, very basic and small - two people are really, really cramped. We got a small bar of soap and a towel (no shower mat or anything further). So to be charged the price of a top hotel, and arrive to find a tiny, pretty shabby, apartment was a shock. Shower didn't work well. The room wasn't cleaned. Perhaps the rest of the year this apartment is cheap - in which case it is worth considering.

Great Location - Nice and Comfy
Nice spacious room with a small kitchenette, the Couch turned bed was not that comfortable as the actual bed, so next time there is a triple occupancy, see who gets the couch, utensils, coffee machine, hot water kettle were all provided, nice big tv, lack of English Channels, so non German tourists really tough to find something to Watch. Location is great, 5-10 min walk from the Market or Centre, less than 2 km from the Central Station, right opposite the Chocolate Museum, don't know how the Museum is but, yeah has a really nice Chocolate Shop - Go get some chocolates for your trip or to take back home. Had a little trouble with the wi-fi but was resolved the next day. Booking process and everything was ok - Its all a self-check in and check out process, get to the property, punch a code - you get your keys and when your leaving, you just leave the keys on the table - Bill is all settled in advance, make your own breakfast or meals - however you prefer it, there is no room service or any restaurant or kitchen if your looking for - its perfect for a relaxed stay and explore the city. Strongly recommended if your not looking for a hotel with service - Had a great stay.

Great for City Centre
On arrival you get the key via a number coded box, very easy to use. The flat smelt of cigarettes in spite of no smoking signs in the apartment. The facilities are all there if required and essentials can be bought from the petrol station around the corner. The one spoiler was other guests in the building being very noisy , talking and shouting in the early hours, not the owners fault at all but 2 disturbed nights sleep because of it.

Spacious apartment in central position.
We had a family room (2 spacious rooms with kitchenette and bathroom). Central location near Rhine cruises, chocolate museum, tourist train and cathedral. We'd definitely recommend this place to families. Quiet location off the main road close to all facilities. Fantastic value for money. Thank you we had a great stay.

We rented Apt XVIII, a 1-bedroom apt with a small terrace. This place is not a traditional hotel, it's more like small apartments for rent. There is no office; it's self check-in where they send you a code by email to check in at 3, and a lock-box give you your key. We had no problems getting in. The building seemed like a small apartment complex. Ours was a third floor (or if you're not American you'd call it 2nd floor) 1-bedroom with a small terrace outside the window off the upstairs bedroom. We liked it, especially for the price and location and extra space. Our stay in February was very inexpensive and we always find that apartments beat hotels hands-down. Note that there is no lift so people with mobility or health issues would want to ask about ground-floor apartments. The double bed (twin mattresses together in the same bed frame) was very comfortable. This apartment was kind of kitchy-cute in the decor with fun feather lampshades and homey little signs, painted white with black & silver accents. The bathroom was small and had a tiny stand-up shower that was interesting to use but got us clean in the morning. Plenty of hot water. Soap was provided but not shampoo. We had extra towels. The wi-fi for our devices was good. The kitchenette had everything we needed except for spoons, but had tea and coffee that someone had left behind, which was nice. It was a short walk to the city center. Very easy to find and there are parking garages nearby.

Room was spotless on arrival, and had everything needed for a two night stay. Location was right outside Chocolate Museum and a Christmas Market, and ten minutes by taxi to the train station and Old Town.

IKEA showroom that is much smaller than conveyed by the pictures (which are in fact a mixture of photographs of several different and potentially larger apartments. Communication was good until we confirmed the booking, then he ceased to reply to emails or answer the phone. This was especially annoying as the advertised internet connection did not work, and since he had promised to send directions for parking via email. (The malfunctioning internet connection seems to be an ongoing issue, compare also previous reviews.) The location is good, half way between old town and Südstadt. The noise levels - also at night - were quite high due to the busy cross street.

A great alternative to a hotel!
This apartment is within walking distance of the Rhine cruises kiosk, the Gothic Cathedral, and the Chocolate Museum, all places we wanted to see, so it was great. We got the Penthouse suite, and it suited our family really well!

Cute little apartment
We fell in love with this apartment. My husband and I stayed there with our teenaged daughter and it was a cosy fit. The decor was clean and pleasing. It was a little distance from the train station, but within walking distance to many of the tourist attractions, and particularly to the river and the chocolate museum. The owner had added little personal touches that made us feel welcome and made our time in Cologne extremely enjoyable. Thank you!

All good but the smoke
This was a really nice change from the more traditional hotel rooms. My only complaint was that there was a very strong smell of cigarette smoke, overwhelming actually. It was bad enough that I had the windows open even in November. While I said that I would recommend the hotel I would only do so with the caveat of potential for smokers staying there before you.

1-Sterne Hotel zum Preis von 4-Sternen
Die Probleme fingen schon bei der Buchung an. Das Hotel war nicht unter der angegebenen Telefonnummer zu erreichen. Welches auch zu Problemen führte bei der Anreise. Ich stand pünktlich zum check-in vor dem Hotel, kam aber nicht rein und am Telefon reagierte wieder niemand. Ich wurde nicht darüber informiert, dass ich einen Code benötige, damit mir ein Schlüssel zugeteilt werden kann. Nach sehr viel hin und her konnte ich das Hotel unter anderer Nummer doch noch erreichen und bekam meinen Schlüssel. Im Zimmer gingen die Probleme weiter. Die Handtücher waren fleckig und schmutzig. Da das Hotel keine Rezeption hatte, konnte ich auch kein neues bekommen. Das Bad hatte sämtliche Mängel und war ebenfalls dreckig. Die Pfannen in der Kochecke waren so zerkratz, dass einem die Lust am essen verging. Ich würde dieses Hotel niemandem empfehlen. Außerdem ist das Hotel nichtmal besonders nah am Schokoladenmuseum.

Etwas enttäuschend, aber ausreichend.
An sich hat das (Einzimmer-)Appartment eine relativ gute Lage. Der Service war sehr gut. In dem Appartment war zwar alles vorhanden (Bett, Tisch, Stühle Kochnische, Wasserkocher etc.), allerdings war alles sehr alt und etwas sporadisch. Leider haben wir etwas mehr erwartet. Das Appartment ist an sich ausreichend, aber nicht unbedingt erholsam.

Turvallisen tuntuista aluetta. Miinusta siitä että kylpypyyhkeet olivat kooltaan lähempänä käsipyyhkeitä, en tajuu..? Keittiö varusteltu hyvin: kahvinkeitin, vedenkeitin, leivänpaahdin, jääkaappi, 2-levyinen hella, mikro.. Suosittelisin asuntoa jos ei vaadi täydellisyyttä, vaan kohtuullinen hinta ja hyvä sijainti ovat tärkeimpiä.

Entgegen der Bewertungen vorheriger Gäste kann ich sagen, dass das Apartment sehr sauber war. Zweckmäßig eingerichtet, das Einchecken mit dem Keysafe hat problemlos funktioniert. Lediglich das Bad war etwas klein, aber sauber, was ich am wichtigsten finde. Sauber war auch das Geschirr im Schrank, Kühlschrank. Spülmittel war vorhanden, Geschirrhandtuch, alles bestens. Alles völlig ausreichend für ein Wochenende in Köln!

A localização destes apartamentos é ótima, mesmo junto ao Museu do Chocolate, e bem próximo dos Mercados de Natal do centro e da Catedral! Aspetos menos positivos: o colchão da cama, por ser demasiado duro; as almofadas por serem disformes; a internet que nem sempre funcionou; as toalhas de banho (4 toalhas do tamanho de cara); o cheiro intenso a comida indiana que se encontrava no apartamento quando chegamos. Antes da nossa chegada mudaram-nos 2 vezes de quarto, achamos estranho... Em relação ao "key boy" funcionou tudo bem. Estes apartamentos valem a pena pela localização, mas procurando com mais antecedência do que fizemos, encontram-se opções melhores por preços semelhantes!

호텔도 아니고 개인아파트를 임대식으로 하룻밤 빌려주는 것이기 문도 닫혀있고 호텔이라는 싸인도 없고 사람도 없습니다. 절대 예약하지 마세요 주택가에 아무 것도 없는 집이라 찾을 수도 들어갈 수도 없습니다. No sign, no receptionist, door closed. hard to find this house... I recommend not to use this APT....

Апартаменты старенькие,мебель потрепаная,многое не работает. Лампочки пришлось покупать самим. Мусор за три дня не вынесли,да и спросить куда можно его вынести не у кого. С сантехникой тоже надо долго разбираться, пока вычислишь алгаритм ее работы. Соседи оооочень шумные. Вобщем не советую! Расположение не плохое.в пяти минутах ходьбы есть не дорогая автостоянка,а а так все стоянки с 8 до 23 платные.

Klein design-appartement maar wel schoon. Jammer van de vieze geur, waarschijnlijk afkomstig uit de afvoerkanalen!! Locatie is perfect. Je weet niet of je het appartement ook krijgt dat je denkt te hebben geboekt.

Apartments in guter Lage
Lustig ausgestattet, ganz in weiss. Super Lage unweit vom Rhein und den Kranhäusern. Severin Viertel in Fussnähe. Die weissen Möbel waren nicht mehr so ganz sauber, was verständlich ist und in der Natur dieser Farbwahl liegt. Der Klodeckel wackelte und rutschte gerne mal ab. Der Rasierspiegel war abgebrochen und nie ersetzt worden. Ansonsten war es sauber und günstig. Wir würden es weiterempfehlen, bzw. wiederkommen!

Jag är mycket nöjd med A-partment, rum med pentry. Rent och snyggt, bekvämt med pentry som var fullt utrustat. Trevligt område, nära till Supermarket för inköp av frukost. Bra instruktioner för nyckelhämtning. Bra WiFi, till en början, men det slutade att fungera senare på kvällen och morgonen därpå. Tvn fick frispel efter en stund och slutade att fungera. Lyhört från trapphuset och porten. Annars var allting toppen!

Sentral leilighet i Køln
To etasjers leilighet beliggende i toppetasje bestående av eget soverom/hems med dobbeltseng. To sofaer i hovedrom fungerer som senger hvis en er fire personer slik vi var. Møblement er moderne men begynner å bli slitt. I hovedrommet er det en kjøkkenkrok med komfyr, microbølgeovn og kjøleskap. Vi bestilte for fire personer men det var bare tallerkener til tre. Badet er trangt men har de funksjonene man trenger. Parkering var vanskelig å finne. Vi fant en plass i en sidegate etter mye leting. Renhold var etter vår oppfatning manglende. Koketoppen var full av fastbrent skitt og gulv i hovedetasje var ikke skikkelig vasket. Branndetektor lå løst oppe på kjøkkenskapet. Det var ingen branndetektor oppe på soverommet. Gangavstand til Kølnerdomen og andre severdigheter. I utgangspunktet en bra og sentral leilighet til en bra pris, men dårlig renhold trekker ned opplevelsen.

Sentralt beliggende. Vanskelig å finne parkering. Senger gode. Litt slitt og dårlig rengjort. Vi var to voksne og to barn. Det var ikke servise til 4 stk. Brødkniv manglet. Brannvarsler lå løst på kjøkkenskap i nedre etg. På soverom oppe var det ingen brannvarsler. Rømmningsveier ikke merket.

L'hôtel est bien situé, mais l'expérience aurait pu être plus agréable. Des poils laissés sur les draps, une bouilloire qui ne fonctionne pas (et est extrêmement sale), de la vaisselle sale, une lunette de toilette cassée ; plein de petites choses qui agacent quand on paie ce prix.

Apartment in der Altstadt
Leider ist das mit den Parkplätzen nicht so gut. Es befinden sich in der Holzgasse welche, die sind aber unbezahlbar, wenn man ein paar Tage in Köln ist. Es gibt auch genügend Parkhäuser, die aber auch nicht billig sind. Wenn man kostenlos parken möchte, muss man außerhalb an den Park & Ride Parkplätzen parken und dann mit den öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln wieder in die Stadt fahren. Das Apartment war sehr spartanisch eingerichtet. Die Dusche war nicht sehr einladend (Schimmel). Beim zu ziehen der Vorhänge muss man aufpassen, dass nicht die Vorhangstange runter fällt. Die Küche war nicht besonders sauber und wurde in der Endreinigung wohl vergessen worden. Die Betten waren sauber und ok. Wenn man nicht unbedingt was kochen möchte, ist das Apartment ok. Alles in allem hat es uns aber in Köln sehr gut gefallen. Die Restaurants am Rhein und überhaupt das Flair waren sehr schön.
