We chose to stay at this hotel for two nights whilst returning back to the UK after a rail holiday around Switzerland.
The hotel is so close to the railway station and very well placed for visiting all of Colognes attractions. To get to the hotel you exit from the station on the opposite side to the cathedral, and the hotel is at the end of the station square, just a couple of minutes away. The hotel was a Best Western when we booked last year, but has changed it's name to Wyndham Koeln.
Upon arrival we were not disappointed and were very pleased with our very clean, spacious, superior room. Could not fault the hotel, which appeared to be full and busy. The room had a decent safe, tea and coffee making facilities, aircon and free Wi-Fi too.
There were supermarkets and fast-food in the station nearby and plenty of bars and restaurants in the old town. The pedestrianized shopping streets were very impressive.
We stayed 3 nights in this hotel whilst visiting Cologne. It was a fabulous hotel right in the heart of the city. On your doorstep also are restaurants and cafes as well as the main shopping district. The main train station is also right there so it easy to take day trips to visit other towns if you want to. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. When we return to Cologne we will definitely stay here again.
I had read other reviews of this hotel and was slightly concerned at some of the comments made, however I found this hotel to be very clean, rooms comfortable and in good location, very good value for money. The owner and all his team were very friendly, I would certainly stay there again
My recent stay at the hotel was excellent. As others have said, it has an excellent location and is comfortable in every way. The breakfast is outstanding. It an old-fashioned German hotel with keys with a big weight so you hand it in upon leaving; a nice old and personal tradition as is always including breakfast each morning! Also rooms with sinks but without toilet and shower is still a great way to save money in Europe. These facilities were located directly in the same hallway and were easy, clean and no hassle to use. Danke.

Brandenburger Hof hotel is a smart, traditional hotel in Cologne , just a stone's throw from the main train station. …More
Great location by the train station. I got to the hotel at 9:30am after a 9 hour flight and they had a room open at their sister hotel a block down the street. It was very nice of them to allow me to check in so early and get some sleep. Great staff and nice room.
