“Good Value for the price”

This hotel was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the service was adequate for the price. Would definitely stay here again for a weekend.

“It is what it is”

The Super 8 in Alton is what it is. It is good for a trip to see the family and other activities, but not if you are expecting an above average experience.

“Quite OK, but too expensive”

No gripes. Room was clean, bed was comfortable (a rarity in my experience). Room had a fridge, which was convenient for me. TV had very pale color, but in my case that wasn't a major problem because I generally don't watch TV. No problems with noise. Staff were consistently friendly. Breakfast was passable, although I see no reason why they can't serve skim milk (choice was 2%, 2%, or 2%). Only significant disappointment was cost, which I felt was much too high for a motel of this caliber.

Beds were comfortable, shower worked well, heating unit was much quieter than what you encounter in many hotels, but none of this really made up for the fact that we were in a smoking room when I had specified non-smoking.
