The hotel was nice, nothing wrong with it as a place to sleep, although the beds were not queen size and it looked as though they were updating the rooms as some stuff was new, modern while some was still the old. Our room phone didn't work when we got there and it wasn't fixed in our 3 day stay. The restaurant has delicious food and is decent priced.
Our stay here was fine, especially since you aren't in your room much while visiting DC. We ended up upgrading our room to the double bed (which I highly recommend) after staying one night in the cheaper room. It was just more cozy and seemed a little newer/cleaner. Overall, I was happy with my stay for the price we payed and would stay here again. It's about a 10 min walk to the metro which was a huge bonus!
I travel to DC occasionally, and usually stay close to the city. This weekend was crazy busy so there were no hotels in my price range still available close in. Thankfully I found the Marriott in College Park. Wonderful hotel, less expensive then others, but still way over priced and very far out.
Shuttle driver to the Metro was wounderful.
No regular coffee pods in room upon arrival. Called & staff bought up 3. Used them & next day when room was cleaned, coffee not restocked and 1 bar soap of soap missing. Ate breakfast in hotel each morning but staff was not very alert to our needs. Had to ask for coffee even though we had our cups turned up. Stayed at Hilton Garden Inn in Williamsburg a week or so earlier and it was outstanding!
A very friendly desk clerk greeted me upon arrival. Everything was clean and new looking as we entered. However, we found that the glass plate in the microwave was very greasy, not cleaned at all. The other deficiency was the temperature of the mini fridge. There was no temperature control and it was never cold enough. I mentioned parking in my review. We stayed three nights and returned late one night. We were permitted to park in an unmarked space, as were three other cars. There should be enough spaces to cover one car per room with a few extra for staff. There is no on-street parking without a permit. There is only one luggage cart.

There's a lot more to this college town than the University of Maryland, and guests at our College Park hotel can enjoy …More
Lived in DC for 40 years and return for visits with friends scattered over the metro area.. This hotel is on the perimeter, but it is very handy to the Beltway and the Metro Green Line. Thus, one can get anywhere in the metro area, including downtown, very easily. Marriotts are always plenty nice, and this one isn't an exception to that general rule. The staff was very cordial. Overall, a very good experience and a very good value for a metro area that is notoriously expensive.
As its name suggests, College Park is a college town. Many locals are affiliated with the University of Maryland, a colonial, red-brick campus set amid 1,250 acres of rolling greenery. Nearby, the College Park Aviation Museum operates on the grounds where Wilbur Wright taught military aviation. The National Archives’ local research facility contains Richard Nixon’s presidential materials.
