“Will definitely book there again”
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this hotel and I would reserve a room there again if ever I am in the Silver Spring area. The room was clean and I found the staff very friendly. This hotel is located about 10 minutes walking from the Silver Spring metro station and that is very convenient. Also close to the downtown shopping district.
“Hotel was O.K.”
This was an overnight stay. The hotel room was clean and beds were comfortable. The room needs an upgrade. Carpet was old. There was a leak from the tub area. I basically got what I paid for. I was satisfied with the service.
“Good basic hotel”
Hotel was clean and comfortable with a large room. Only quite basic but good value for the price. Metro station on the red line was around a 15 minute walk and took you right in to the National Mall
“Not in the Summer”
We traveled in April during an unseasonably warm week. The air conditioner in the room was not working properly. It was cooler outside the room than inside the room. After we showered, we needed another shower! We did ask the front desk to look into it after our first uncomfortable night, but someone was unavailable until the next day, which didn't bode well for the 2nd night of our 2 night stay. Other than tha, everything was o.k. Good value for the $$$.
“Decent.”
General maintenance of the establishment, a little disappointing. Room was nice and clean. No breakfast. Coffeemaker in room. Price was decent, considering the location, although elsewhere, for this price you can get brakfast included. 10-15 min. walk from the Metro to Washington DC.
“So Far Hotel”
it was a good trip

“Hotel is just fine!”
Hotel itself was fine and service, cleanliness and quakuty was quite good. Would have liked if there was some type of shuttle service from this hotel to the Metro station (about 3/4 mile away). Area seems pretty safe, but one time I would have had to walk it at 10:00 PM, which was a little uncomfortable. Taxi service (not the hotel's fault) is unreliable. There is bus service available, but still, since there are several hotels in this immediate area, and some sort of arrangement with a shuttle or taxi service (shared among the hotels) would be nice.
“Bare basics okay if not fussy, nothing fancy”
+ Passably comfortable & clean bed, hot water, cold air conditioner, cleaned carpet, cordial staff, no vermin. - Noisy fridge (unplugged to sleep), noisy air conditioner (set low to sleep), noisy bath fan. - Dirty toilet paper on floor next to toilet when I arrived, gone after 1st day; old cigarette butt snubbed out on phone jack next to fridge when arrived, still there last (4th) day; wallpaper stained and torn, nasty rotted old phone book on shelf, beat up electric breaker box w/open hole & exposed wires. - Bath faucet broken, hard to control & barely functional, bathtub highly patched yet with many rust stains through enamel (looking much like blood), plastic bath curtain hangs on you when sitting on toilet. - Unknowledgeable late night office staff. Filthy trash bin outside by stairs. +/- Didn't use TV, fridge or phone, nor any special room service. = Okay to sleep (with noisemakers subdued), but not for working (machine noises) or for guests (appearance, noise). Too "ghetto" for my tastes, but I got a good price and the location was perfect for me. Glad my wife wasn't there, I'd of never heard the end of it. ** Neighborhood dominated by Ethiopian community centered around nearby 7-11, mostly friendly & w/great coffee. Colombian community 2nd w/great latin deli around the corner from 7-11.
“It's not the Hilton, but I've paid more for less.”
First I have to say, no this is not a 5 star hotel, so do not expect it to be. It is a clean room with comfortable beds, and the price is just right considering how much money one tends to spend in the DC area. The hotel staff are extremely nice. They even allowed me to check in at 7 a.m. since I was exhausted and had driven all night. There is easy to the metro via a free bus (Van Gogh - purple line); however, the walk to the metro is quite short as well. The area is nicely developed and in what seemed to be a safe neighborhood, which was a primary concern as I had my 10 year old son with me. So that being said... no, it's not the Hilton, and sure it could use some updating, but if you're not an uppity hoity toity, then you will find this place quite nice. =)
